Kindred is lovely. I’ve had wonderful experience so far hosting and traveling. 4 vs 5 bc I just wish there were more high caliber places listed in places I wanted to go!

Thank you for this, Inga, so glad both sides of the experience have felt great so far! And noted on the inventory, it's super helpful feedback as we continue to grow. Hopefully we'll have more options in the places on your list very soon :)

Support from Kindred team was really good

It was really a good option rather than staying at a hotel. The house was completely clean with extra towels and blankets. The customer help service was really slow. I am back from the trip but still couldn't reach the concierge.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Mirza! We're really glad the home felt like a true home away from hotel :) We're sorry to hear that our support felt slow to reach you. Our team aims to respond to all emails and in-app messages within 24 hours, but for anything time-sensitive while you're on-trip, there's an Urgent assistance option available directly in the app as we want to make sure you always have a fast path to us when it matters most. We hope the trip itself left you with great memories, and we'd love to host you again. If there's anything we can follow up on, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Concierge!

Home swapping with Kindred is a no brainer for anyone with an apartment in a desirable location and who travels a decent amount. Stay in homey apartments, make friends, save tons of money. Kindred is generally helpful and responsive as a team, although I did have one very frustrating experience with a policy that felt wildly inappropriate, essentially pushing the cost onto me when it was the host’s mistake had already caused a major travel disruption for me. Overall recommend but feel they could tighten up on some of these issues. I’ll keep my review updated as my experience evolves.

I just wanted to say that I think the Kindred support team is truly great. Their home protection program really impressed me. I had two rather unpleasant incidents with significant damage, and they handled the refunds quickly and efficiently. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and responsive they were, so any negative reviews out there don’t match my experience at all. My only real concern is more about the type of guests you encounter. Unfortunately, many people treat it like a cheap alternative to Airbnb rather than a true home exchange community. So I’ve started only accepting guests with a solid history and badges to ensure they’re genuinely interested in home exchange, not just a bargain stay. I think the platform could do a bit more to help differentiate that. It’s better to keep it a real community of people who actually want to exchange homes, rather than turning it into a discount hotel substitute.
