Misrepresentative pics, poor service
Misrepresentative pics and poor customer service I ordered this in Black Metallic. On the site, that appears to be nearly black, with a brushed matte finish. In other words, modern, classy, and unaffected by fingerprints. When it arrived, the box listed the color as Pearlized Dark Flint. It looked like it belonged in a futuristic brothell. Fingerprints everywhere. Tacky as you can imagine. Not black, not matte, not brushed. Since it wasn't a holiday gift, I chose not to call Le Creuset about return the week before Xmas. Tried calling the week after Xmas and they were closed all week. Tried calling the week after New Years, and gave up after sitting on hold for over an hour. Tried using the returns page on their web site, and it was full of incorrect info - it said to call customer service, but the customer service line said to refer to the web site. Emailed customer service and didn't get a response for a week. The response was that it was up to me to pay to ship it back, even though they misrepresented the product. I emailed back to confirm, and they just said (paraphrasing) too bad, so sad. Called again and finally got someone on the phone 4 weeks after I received it. "Becky" agreed - too bad, so sad. She said they describe the colors differently for different countries - as though that excuses the photo being entirely wrong. Last time I deal with Le Creuset - they are scammers, and their behavior makes me regret being considerate by not calling the week before Xmas.
