Sonora is super easy and effective way of learning. I've only been using it a few weeks and my skills have advanced tremendously!

The knowledge I gained about the guitar in general has been astounding. The mentors are great and the curriculum is wonderful and very thorough. At first glance it seems pricey however if you take advantage of all that’s available it’s actually cheaper than anything else there is

Carter is a truly excellent mentor, the best guitar teacher I've encountered in 20 years of playing. The Sonora software is also excellent, very easy to follow and learn. The classes and office hours that are available are also amazing. I was originally skeptical because of the different format to the usual in person guitar lessons but now I very highly recommend Sonora.

I set up a call with a sales rep and he never showed up to the call. He said he was in the room though messaging, but I got in the room and was not let in. I'm not sure what happened there and they did not give me the opportunity to reschedule.

I have been through the Sonora program and had 2 different instructors. Unfortunately, neither of them were very helpful to my style of learning, apparently. I think that maybe what is lacking in this program, is consistency/structure of what is being taught by the instructors. It seems like what they teach is completely up to them, and I felt like a lot was lacking in the answers they had to my questions a lot of times. It can be difficult to get technique tips from guitar instructors, and these people were no different. My guitar skills have improved, but for the cost of the program, I felt like my experience should have been so much better. A lot of times, they throw a song or solo at you to learn how to play, and I realize this is beneficial but also very time consuming, on top of all the other things you are supposed to be practicing. It's an easy thing to assign students because it's low effort on their end, instead of having to take more time to teach you what you might actually want to learn. And good luck getting your instructor's full undivided attention at times. They often have gigs and are unavailable. I suppose these things would be ok, for the most part, but for the cost, not so much. It's very expensive and in paying this amount of money, you kind of feel like you should be a pro by the end of the program. They make it seem like learning from these professional musicians make the money worth it, but I'm not so sure it is. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I did improve on guitar and learned quite a bit. I am still far from where I'd like to be though. And again...not a good value for the cost.

I recently enrolled in Sonora, however I had to cancel the next day because I had some other studd I had to pay off first before I could commit that much money to this. In doing so they have been nothing but helpful and they even offered me many different payment plans to try to get me what I needed. They've also told me to reach out in the meantime if I ever needed help with guitar. I know at the end of the day the people I was mainly speaking to were salesman and they are good at their job but they are extremely personable and you can tell that they have passion in really helping people have a good experience and get what they want out of the program. Also, they are super upfront with everything as far as payment goes, the reason I had to withdrawal was completely on my end not thinking everything through, but I plan on returning to the program once everything is figured out. Highly recommend!!

This is a great course with top notch musicians/instructors. It is structured in a way that makes sense and keeps you moving along, it is up to how much work you put into it. Not sure if the bad reviews are from people who actually have experience with the program as it looks like they are just bashing the initial call and the price but this is legit and everyone is great. You don't have to work with a mentor as there were different options when I was taking the course and continue to use their software online after my year of zoom classes were finished. I had the option to continue working through the program but with a recent move, couldn't dedicate as much time as I would have wanted to make it realistic. As I have said, I still use the software on just about a daily basis and continue to learn from it.
