Predatory Subscription Tactics, No Data Protection, Poor Customer Service
Updated: We don't infact lose access to unpublished site when the subscription is cancelled - we only lose access to paid plan features (I try and test platforms for work, so I would know). You providing me with a temporary a 24-hr access is not a privilege, it's a basic consideration expected in return for predatory platform tactics and poor customer service. Re: the spam issues. I had already told your customer service that I tried all of it. But giving me the same solutions is redundant. I didn't reply to your ticket because it was pointless to - your agent in their second email told me they can't really do anything about it as you can see. I'm sorry but you cannot be here expecting brownie points for basic customer service. Original Post: Besides being overpriced for what they offer, LeadPages has been one of my worst decisions ever. When you unsubscribe your plan, instead of simply unpublishing your website like other hosting providers do, LP deactivates your account without notice. You can't access any of your pages or information without signing up for their subscription - which is really weird considering they let you build an entire site before you take any of the paid plans. While I was using LP, I got spammed by over 200 emails in one day from the same spam account - this is despite setting up thee Google safety steps that they ask you to. Their customer service literally tells you there's not else they can do and may be just disable your contact form instead of solving the issue. The templates are from the early 2000's era but in the most unappealing way with very limited customizations. While easy to use, it is not visually appealing. All of that can be excused but the deactivating the account when that has not been selected or asked for just coz of cancelling the subscription is just unacceptable. Would absolutely not recommend. Use Pledge or Readymag with a funnel laid out by ChatGPT instead of this. Please check their Google customer reviews as well before using their service. This isn't an isolated experience.
Response from LeadpagesFeb 11, 2025
Thank you for your valued feedback, Tejasvi. We appreciate you taking your time review your experience with Leadpages :) Like most subscriptions, having access to your account is a benefit of having a paid subscription. Pages can't be accessed without an active account, which is standard practice. Having said that, it looks like we've since granted you a nonobligatory, temporary reactivation as a courtesy, so you can get access to your pages. I'm happy we could get this resolved. As for your spam leads, we fully understand your frustration at the irregularly high number of leads you've received. On the ticket you opened on this, it looks like we provided you a list of alternative options outside of Google ReCaptcha, as opposed to leaving it unresolved. I would suggest reviewing the last email reply to double check the alternatives we provided. It seems like there may have simply been a misunderstanding here, but if you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back at [email protected] and we'll be happy to continue assisting. Thanks! :)
