1st year with TLG man, oh man. I was asked to leave a review multiple times, but I said I would only do it if certain goals were hit, and I’d have no problem leaving the best reviews for TLG all over social media and today was the time! These guys helped our small family business grow so big we literally had to shut down for months because we could not keep up with the demand. My husband and I worked very hard to start and grow our business, so every penny that was coming out of it felt like the world was gonna end for me lol but I pulled the trigger and paid TLG for their services, and I don’t regret a single bit of it. If you own and run a business, don’t run the marketing yourself, dude. It’s not worth wasting your hard earned money. Let the professionals handle it.
5/5 Stars boom, deserved!!

A Complete Financial Disaster – Avoid The Leading Group at All Costs
A Financial Nightmare – My Cautionary Tale with The Leading Group
My experience with The Leading Group (TLG) has been nothing short of a financial catastrophe, and I want to share my story to help others make informed decisions.
When I initially invested with TLG, my goal was simple: to create passive income to cover planned medical expenses in the future. Unfortunately, this decision resulted in an unbelievable -155% ROI, leaving me with a staggering loss of $11,788.93 in just eight months.
The bulk of my losses stemmed from their mismanagement, including relentless advertising fees that produced zero results. To make matters worse, the account manager assigned to me operated in a time zone 14 hours ahead of mine, with English as a secondary language—making communication both difficult and inefficient.
One particularly disappointing experience was in Q4 2023, typically the most profitable quarter for businesses. Instead of seeing growth, TLG managed to lose $4,341.43 in that quarter alone, primarily due to poor decision-making.
At one point, TLG suggested I pay additional monthly fees to “maintain” their service—essentially asking me to spend more money to keep losing money. I declined this absurd proposal, and to their credit, they acknowledged my concerns. They graciously adjusted my negative ROI from -155% to -147%, reducing my losses by $1,700. While this was a kind gesture, it didn’t change my overall feelings or erase the damage done.
Recently, I received an email from a TLG representative named Casey, claiming that if I had stayed with them, my store would now be making no less than $10,000 per month. Frankly, I don’t believe this claim for a second. Even if it were true, I estimate I would still be spending $12,500 monthly to make that $10,000, leaving me at a loss.
To be clear, my purpose in sharing this review is not to harm TLG but to provide an honest account of my experience. I’ve updated this review after receiving a reply from the company, and I will not be intimidated into removing it. Both I and platforms like Trustpilot have documentation to back up my statements.
My takeaway? If I had simply left my investment in a basic savings account—or even stashed it under my mattress—I’d be in a far better position today. I hope others considering TLG take my experience into account before making their decision.
Final Thoughts: This review is based on facts and my personal experience with The Leading Group. My only intention is to inform potential investors so they can make educated decisions. For me, engaging with TLG resulted in an undeniable financial loss, and I cannot, in good faith, recommend this company to anyone.
Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial burden—look elsewhere.

The review in question is baseless, defamatory, and lacks any substantiated evidence. It appears to have been crafted with the intent to harm our brand's reputation. Moreover, upon investigation, the content of the review is nearly identical to that of a review targeting a separate company offering similar services, raising significant concerns of duplicity and malintent.
Under defamation law, specifically as outlined in Restatement (Second) of Torts § 558, defamation requires a false statement, communicated to others, causing reputational harm. This review fails to meet the standards of truth and accuracy and serves no legitimate purpose beyond damaging our business.
We reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies to address this malicious act, including seeking damages for reputational harm under applicable statutes.

I am now coming up on my 3rd year with…
I am now coming up on my 3rd year with with leading group. When I first joined back then I could tell the team was still new with putting their things together. Process was slow and tasks were getting done not to my level of speed I wanted them. I run multiple business and whoever I work with I need them to move as fast as me but unfortunately that wasn't with these guys but what I liked was things were getting done and deadlines were met. ive worked with multiple other agencies and I can call bs right away but with leading group I stack around because I knew I was not feed BS. To keep it short and simple Around the 2nd year I saw a huge upgrade in their service, they now have multiple trained employees for almost every task back then 4 tasks would be handeld by one person which caused the issues. Speed, performance, results, communication is top level now I get updates and response in matter of minutes. Special thanks to the team at leading group and my account manager Raymond.

Very Expensive, Not Worth It, and Low Success
I feel strongly that the fee this business charges for store setup is way too high, and not worth it. There are many other companies out there charging much less for the same services. After discontinuing my business with this company and receiving a partial refund of $2k, which was all they were willing to offer, I still feel I vastly overpaid. I have been working with Shopify store managers I hired directly at a low hourly rate, since they're based abroad, and have already found their work to be of higher quality. We have researched many more quality products as well. I wish I had saved my money and tried this out myself. I do not feel like The Leading Group was doing anything that special or value-add for me with such a high startup cost, and then such a high monthly fee. Thankfully I quit before the monthly fee started. I would amend my review if the startup cost had been lower. Now that I see what these services entail and what they are worth, I really did overpay for a store template that was cloned for me, and for a store with minimal success, which mostly only offered one single product, and had typos and bad styling throughout.

Tax responsibility not factored into profits
Not a scam but just keep in mind they don’t include your tax responsibilities when presenting potential profits. Shopify reports all sales to the IRS. You’ll be responsible for sales tax on all sales and federal taxes on all profits. Once factored in, the profits are very minimal, if any. Company is legit and their people are very professional, just not worth it when everything is factored in.

Stay away from The Leading Group...
I used this company to help sell products (hired them, really) via an Instagram ad. I initially mentioned that I'd like to make an extra couple thousand dollars, per month. They said that seemed reasonable, after a start up period. I paid a few thousand dollars to them, registered a website, created an Ali Express account, paid for Slack, etc... all the things I was supposed to do. We set up a TikTok business account and I paid for ads.
I had an original "account manager," who researched products and (allegedly) tested different marketing campaigns. I had a few sales, but nothing significant... this was after a month or two, maybe. Not totally sure on the timeline. Communication was sporadic.
After a while, nothing was happening with the store. No sales, no communication from the AM.
I was given a new account manager after about six months... he was very nice and optimistic, spoke about trying new products and new campaigns. But really, nothing major happened. I think I sold a few things. The second manager was more engaged, though... but having a few people add a product to a shopping cart, then not buy anything, doesn't really sound like a successful store.
After approximately 10 months, I'd say I spent about $10,000 for the service, the ads, buying and fulfilling the products, the Slack and Shopify accounts.
And I think the store probably did less than $1,000 in total business. So, spent $10,000 to do less than $1,000 in revenue... not profit. Revenue.
Super bummed. It sounded too good to be true, so shame on me for falling for it. I wanted to be patient but I was tired to paying for the TikTok ads each month.
And, in a show of good faith, they didn't charge me the monthly $500 that they're supposed to collect (since there was no activity on the store, they said they didn't make me pay).
EDIT: I'm updating my review, based on the feedback from TLG.
I had an account for almost a year, not 3 months or 6 months. I was pretty patient.
Based on our initial Instagram chats, I was told that breaking even, or even turning a profit in six months, was very doable.
They included screenshots of Slack conversations from APRIL of 2023. Almost a year ago.. nothing from the last six months, when I kept asking for updates or when I was given a new account manager. Or when I was told that they would 'investigate' why the store wasn't performing, then I wouldn't get a response.

Mike, we are saddened that you felt the need to leave a one-star review after all we have tried to do to help and assist you. Running an ecommerce brand is not a 3 or 6-month endeavor, where you may think that hitting the 3-6 month mark will magically change everything.
We've worked with multiple online store owners, and they have been at it for 3-5 years before seeing any type of results. Before you even signed up with us, we explained the whole process, including how we would be switching out products and testing different ones. This also involved testing out different offers and different ad angles. The products we choose don't just appear in our hands magically; they go through multiple layers of testing, which requires time. For some, this is an enjoyable phase in building a brand, while for others, it may not be.
Those who appreciate the building phase are the ones who deserve to see the store become successful later on. I also want to mention that you did not spend $10,000! Please calculate your numbers before making a false claim. You do understand that you made sales and revenue. You can't just count what went out and not what came in.
Again, thank you for choosing our services. Even though we spent countless hours with you, addressing your needs and talking to you, and ensuring they were met, we received a 1-star rating, which is completely fine. Thank you.
I will be providing a Google doc link as proof. Unfortunately, access to the store has been removed from us, so we won't be able to show any numbers.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY - OVER $10k DOWN THE DRAIN
UPDATE: If you would like even more reason to not work with this company, read their replies to THEIR customer’s reviews. Not only is this harassment, they continue to lie. They did not refund me $4,000, they only refunded me $2,000 after I told them I was reporting them to the BBB. I also have proof of how they provided me with false information in order to get me to sign a contract with them. I had to “micromanage” my Account Manager because he kept forgetting to update my shop, products, and left ads running on a product that he had already told me “failed testing”. Also, it was in my contract that I paid them $6,000 to handle Customer Service. So by them admitting in their reply that customers were being directed to me for support when I was given ZERO visibility to what was going on with my shop proves that they breached their contract. Maybe they should spend less time harassing the people they manipulated into signing contracts with them and focus on learning how to do what they say they do.
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! PLEASE let me be a cautionary tale for you. They have no idea what they are doing. I have been told lie after lie and been delivered so much misinformation. I have been working with The Leading Group since August 2023 they launched my shop a little less than a month after in September 2023. As of now, my total expenses have been greater than $12,600 and they have only been able to generate my shop a total of $2,520.93 in TOTAL SALES. That puts me at a LOSS of OVER $10,000. I consistently had to proactively reach out to my Account Manager for updates, no one communicated with me any type of strategy, and they kept gas lighting me like it was something I was doing wrong and that I was trying to be "too hands-on". I had to be hands-on or nothing would have been accomplished. They cannot communicate their strategy for generating sales simply because THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE!
I reached out to them with all of my documentation of every event and outreach that took place throughout my time working with them. They DID NOT uphold their end of the contract in regard to "1:1 Account Management" or "Customer Support". I had several customers reach out directly to me stating they never received their products. When I sent them this documentation I requested a refund of my initial investment given the fact that they did not uphold their end of the contract. They AGAIN gaslit me saying this wasn't true, but they would assign me a new Account Manager.
I'm simply writing this review to make sure NO ONE ELSE falls victim to The Leading Group. They are a scam and I have all the receipts to prove it.

Molly joined the leading group on Aug 18, 2023. As soon as she joined, things started to pick up, and she was happy with the service. I will go ahead and address every single one of the allegations stated in the review above. Let's first start with "DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY - OVER $10k DOWN THE DRAIN." This is not true. Firstly, you did not spend "over 10k." You paid us $6000, and we refunded you $4000 of that. We took a big loss and hit, and we have all the rights to let everyone know this. We made a high-end professional website for her that she ended up using even after we gave her a refund, and it is still active to this date. It is very unfortunate to call yourself the victim to use it for your own benefits and cause damage to a business. Screenshots and conversations will all be linked below for proof. You were all fine and happy with the service and treated us well until we asked you to pay our management fee that we both agreed on in the contract, which stipulated that you would pay us after 90 days. When we brought that up, you quickly labeled us as "SCAMMERS" Not to mention, we also sent her courses that we bought for our own team training, which she can use to run the store. We paid well over $12,000 just to purchase those courses to train our team.
Coming to your next allegation, "They have no idea what they are doing." You micromanaged your account manager day by day and asked questions and updates every other day, even though we told you multiple times how long a task takes. You also were very hesitant spending money on ads. You were told in the beginning we test products and it won't be all sunshine and rainbows just because this is an online store and not a physical store does not make it magically all of a sudden.
Moving onto the next, "I consistently had to proactively reach out to my Account Manager for updates, no one communicated with me any type of strategy, and they kept gaslighting me like it was something I was doing wrong and that I was trying to be 'too hands-on.'" Your account manager gave you updates, and you kept asking for the same thing again and again. If your account manager told you about a specific thing we are doing, that does not mean it happens overnight, and we will have something different to tell you the next day. That's not how this works. This is a testing game, and it's not for every person, and we saw that with you. We even switched your account manager so that you feel better, and even then, you started to talk down on him about things he was doing, even though he was doing great and kept you updating throughout the process. We will be sharing proof of that as well.
Moving onto the next, "I had several customers reach out directly to me stating they never received their products." What about it? Don't you want to grow the business? Isn't this your business? If you don't like your own customers reaching out to you and you hate them for that, then what makes you be able to be a business owner? Even though we take care of customer support, sometimes Shopify gives you a notification that there is a customer waiting for a response. That's not a customer reaching out to you directly.
Unfortunately, we cannot share the actual store layout due to competitors copying our work. However, we will try to show some parts of it.

THANK YOU!
I first started working with The Leading Group November 13, 2022.I broke even within a few months, and was seeing significant results. Everything from finding the products, marketing the products, and order fulfillment was awesome. The results much exceeded my expectations and I am very glad that I chose to work with The Leading Group. Something notable was the communication and the customer service, they have the BEST customer service. If you are looking to scale or start an online e commerce business this is the perfect place. Thank You to the leading group, I am very happy I chose to work with this excellent group.
-update- Sales went down for the past two weeks, I hope they improve over time.
