A family member had recommended Lap of Love to me after they had used them fairly recently. I called and made arrangements for my 15 year old cocker spaniel to be euthanized in my home where I thought would be a comforting, humane and gentle passing. The doctor gave her a shot to relax her & render her unconscious. Grace was shaking with extreme fear. After a few minutes, she did become unconscious. The Dr. then shaved an area on her rear leg and tried to inject her there. She could not so she then shaved an area on her front leg. She could not inject her there either. it was at this time I asked the doctor if there was enough injection material left in the vial to continue. She assured me that she had over compensated and injected Grace in her stomach. After several minutes, Grace was still breathing and the doctor went back to her bag and filled the vial again. She then came back and injected Grace again in her stomach. After several more minutes, my sweet girl was gone. This experience was the most heartbreaking event I have ever been part of. I would never, ever recommend Lap of Love to anyone who cares about their pets. In my opinion, it was inhumane and without a doubt, unprofessional and unnecessary. Please, if you care about your pet and want them to have a loving end, do not use Lap of Love

I have contacted this organization several times. The first 3 times I called them, I decided not to euthanize my cat. I got a different calming med for her instead based on their vets recommenfation. It did not work at all I tried other ways to claim her too with other calming meds etc. I had this cat for about a year. She suffers terriblely from serve anxiety from severe abuse. Anyway, I had a consult with one of their vets about my case. Vet said get her the topical a gabapentin to calm her. I did this but cat did not want any part of it. I worked with this cat for almost a year. I tried all ways to keep her calm. Nothing worked. So I called lap of love back to say I definitely want to euthanize my cat now. During our second vist, Vet asked me if I signed a paper with the humane society that I would return the cat if I could not keep it. I got permission from humane society to euthanize her if I chose to. . I called lap of love back to schedule an appointment. The receptionist called vet back, and vet said, just because client desires euthanasia, I just can't do it. Based on what client says I have to talk more in depth to client about this at our home visit. Anyway, she did not explain this on my 100 dollar video visit a couple of days earlier. I kept telling her that the cat is suffering from sever trauma and I explained to the that the s cat was beyond rehabilitation. She still insisted that she had right to euthanize or not completely ignoring me. She asked me to get permission from humane society I did Vet still said even with this permission she had to decide about eruthania and I would have to possibly pay for services I did not receive or a house call. I was in enough stress as it is,vl and this vet caused me even more unnecessary stress with her flippant attitude, much less facing charges for absolutely no service.

This is about a vet Jaimie Romig. She was ok till the end, when my pet was already loaded in the car after euthanasia. I was giving my dog one last farewell, behind me she offered a hug to my bf who was neither crying not overly devastated. He gracefully accepted it because its a good gesture but as he was pulling away the hug lasted longer than it should have. To me as a professional it is not her place to do such thing. It ruined the special moment of giving my beloved pet a dignified death. I would not recommend her at all. I felt disrespected and disgusted with such action in a very sensitive moment of our lives.

I booked Lap of Love to euthanize my pug who was suffering from metastasized mast cell cancer. Dr. Mary who came for his end of life service was great. However, I booked a grief session with Ashley Trahan the very next day. My pug was my child and losing him was devastating. Ashley kept calling my pug her instead of him, when I corrected her for the second time, she laughed. It felt like she was reading off of a script. I felt no empathy from her. It caused me more trauma and pain, rather than helping me. I would not recommend her or lap of love to anyone. Its just a greedy money making business hiding behind a facade of empathy.

Extremely Disappointed I would not recommend Lap of Love based on my experience. I found the entire process to be extremely stressful, frustrating, and, in my opinion, far too expensive for the level of service we received. I was instructed to give my aggressive puppy three different medications, totaling 32 pills, approximately four hours before the veterinarian arrived. One of those medications was phenobarbital. When I was unable to obtain the medications, I was told the veterinarian was going to be off for two days and that no other veterinarian could call in the prescriptions. I was essentially left without a workable solution. I had already explained that my dog was aggressive and that I was genuinely afraid of being bitten because he had bitten me before. I was then told that I would need to muzzle him, which was extremely concerning given his behavior and the amount of medication I had been instructed to give him. I was also told that I would need to help the veterinarian move my deceased puppy onto a gurney and transport him to her vehicle. This was incredibly upsetting to me. I was already dealing with the emotional trauma of losing my puppy, and I did not feel that I should have been put in that position. I called and emailed multiple times trying to get help and clarification, and the entire experience became a complete disaster. After approximately a week of trying to get everything arranged, I ultimately cancelled the appointment. Thankfully, I was able to find another veterinary company that came out the following day for approximately half the price. I did not have to give my dog medication beforehand, and the veterinarian brought an assistant who helped respectfully and safely move my deceased puppy to the vehicle. The Lap of Love experience caused an already heartbreaking situation to become even more stressful and anxiety-provoking for my entire family. The situation had become so difficult at home that my teenagers were staying with friends because of the constant crying and whining while my puppy was confined to a crate for days. Losing a pet is heartbreaking enough without feeling like you are fighting through a complicated process just to get the help you need. I understand that every situation is different, but based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Lap of Love. I sincerely hope the company reviews this process, particularly how aggressive pets, medication issues, and transportation of deceased pets are handled, because families going through an already devastating experience deserve a much more compassionate and workable process.

I tested them out once a couple years before my dogs death. No one answered so I left a voice mail and no one called me back. When my dog was terminal I called on Saturday morning and the earliest available to come to my house was Monday. They aren’t as advertised,, at least not in the Tampa area.

My dog was KILLED by them when might’ve had a chance to live- 18 - my vet Dr. Browning at TLC to do very low surgery- remove 1 small growth w local-had concern. Seeing 15 yrs -fab reputation. Changed-- gave general to remove unnecessary growths-no consent. Never give 18 general! -Something fishy- last minute change. No consent- no preop blood.. After 4th day call LOL for just assessment -as couldn’t reach vet- Seemed wanted to avoid me. Dr. Sylvia comes -so fast -he’s passed out from anesthesia-on couch But alive. Euthanized him. So fast. Trusted her expertise. Learn after my vet failed to tell-take to ER -bloodwork needed to check organs-his kidneys, already compromised. Out of character for her so fishy reason changed. He’s layey out on couch- still alive. Had dogs all life thought it was a matter of time for anesthesia to wear off. Learned after are things that you do - my own Vet didn’t tell me- making sure covered w blanket so don’t get hyperthermia - until out of anesthesia should’ve been told to go to an ER for critical care - to do bloodwork to see what’s going on with kidneys, etc. to see if has chance. Dr. S in a hurry. She doesn’t really examine him much. She doesn’t ask about him much. He walked an hour night before surgery. . She was so fast she kill him- Emails states SHE DECIDED - not me. Not how should be. Should have before I euthanize take measures your Vet didnt say -then if I’m possible to come back then call me . Perhaps a different LAPDVM would’ve said but got her 1 . In a hurry. Man in car- maybe on way to dinner- in email next day like talking about different dog - says incontitent- couldn’t get up on own. NOT true. Suspect made up to justify. Lies-Called my my vet. Says she said very sick dog really that operate on on dog? She told her underselling issues! Speculate told me to justify what did. But LIED. Career in experimenting on animals.ugh Suspect limited experience with cats & dogs.After her email flipped-left VM w corporate- was beyond upset when realized reality. upset, but not threatening just saying she killed my dog based on wrong reasons didn’t know the facts - didnt rec what may have saved him. . They blocked me nationwide. A company about compassion- people died by suicide after losing pet someone from corporate should’ve called me to make sure I was OK and listen to situation. Via google- found owner- advocate for extending senior dogs life’s yet look what happened to my senior dog. He was KILLED when might have chance. Maybe small owner should’ve fired her that she killed a dog that had a chance of living even if small - deserved that. Sure some of their vets are good. If only I got a different one it was a longshot at that point based on his age, but still she should have instructed to do what could maybe help. Rather quickly kills. Speculate knew when walked in door. You Think euthanizing bring more money than assessment? Will never be same. I thought he was suffering. Screamed out in early am- thought in pain gave gabapentin which did set him back since that can cause lethargy. I told her an email she wrote that drug would not cause lethargy and that is so wrong. She doesn’t have the knowledge to be doing what she’s doing.!! Taking a life! A company that has special lever they pull block someone nationwide there’s gotta be a reason.

Involving lap of love has only left me with regret ,guilt ,trama ,trust issues ,loss and deep sadness in my heart .. Lap of love sent a very unprofessional,unstable,cruel,lack of empathy vet Jessica SPITZER from Thousand Oaks ca to my home and within five minutes my 16 yo 4 lb blind,deaf and scared of everything chihuahua who happen to be my whole world that I protected from the cruelty of this world and bc of lack of love sending Jessica SPITZER who maliciously ended my baby’s life and without remorse threw a blanket over my baby’s head held her down then stabbed her with a huge syringe and left her little limp body under that blanket ! It happened so fast I couldn’t believe what she just did to my baby my guard was down!I am left devastated and in disbelief my soul baby was attracted held down under a blanket and stabbed !!omg ! That’s the memory I’m left with .. I didn’t get to hold her or even say goodbye the guilt is unbearable worse decision I’ve ever made and there’s nothing to change it I’m left to live with it .
