Waste of time. I scheduled a surgery, found out how much I have to pay and that insurance doesn’t cover a lot, then was sent a letter in the mail from Lantern about their services. I called Lantern, got through the information intake, questionnaire, all the hoops. Finally get my providers list after a couple of days- only 3 providers were sent to me which is not much of an option. To add, I live in Raleigh, NC and the closest providers they could find me for a common surgery is Dover, Delaware and Newark, NJ. How ridiculous. Who wants to fly somewhere to have surgery? And then there are risks with flying post-surgery. If you’re going to offer this service, you need to make sure you have providers in every single state.

I was told that Lantern could expedite…
I was told that Lantern could expedite my surgery date. As it turns out that is the farthest thing from the truth. They did nothing but jack me around. Never responded when they said they would, never sent me an email as promised. The care advocate showed no compassion or professional service. She never took care of anything she promised. This is the worst experience I ever had in my whole life with a medical need. I strongly advise everyone to run as fast as you can away from Lantern, they are a complete failure as a company.

This is a sham company
This is a sham company. They recommended a doctor 1.5 hours from me, which is not horrible as I am willing to drive for quality care and live in a rural area only now developing adequate medical services. Luckily, I got a competent surgeon. After the initial referral though, Lantern really did nothing in the process. The doc office did everything after that re scheduling (my condition involved two surgeries 3-months apart). Lanter did provide gas money on a debit card.
The much promoted $500 ‘incentive’ for using their recommended provider was not and has not been loaded on the card. When I called about it, I was told that the money was confirmed loaded, but when I tried to use the card it was clear the incentive had not been loaded. Called again. Rep verified that it had not been loaded and that it could not be until all billing was received and processed. I told them that it is common experience that medical providers can take months and months to even submit bills. Rep said their contracts required billing within a set time. I was told they would investigate it. Then told that it seemed my card should have been loaded with the incentive/reward and they would have to determine what happened.
Subsequently, I received several identical emails assuring me it was being looked into. I replied that their internal investigation was not my responsibility and the money should be loaded on the card now. They can complete their investigation on their time. Crickets. Still did not give me the money they owe me.
I’m going to file a formal complaint with my employer (who recommended and promotes Lantern as part of retirement services). This is a glorified middleman service, which, again, did almost nothing re the care after initial referral and did not follow through on their promised benefit. I am also now questioning if their recommended surgeon was truly selected for exceptional outcomes. Would someone much closer to me have been just as good?
Just go through your regular insurance and handle things yourself. The initial relief you get at the beginning of the interaction re someone theoretically vetting docs and ‘coordinating things’ fades quickly as you realize they really did not do anything that I could not have done myself just by web-searching ‘best surgeons in my area’.
The incentive part would have been the best part of the service -and they do not follow thru on that.

TERRIBLE-Don't communicate or follow up
TERRIBLE. My employer offers this service, and I was excited to use them. I called and gave my intake info and chose my provider on 7/28, but my referral wasn't "sent" to the doctor until 8/12! Even then, the doctor says they never received it. I've had to call the doctor, then call Lantern, and be the middle-man for this "middle man" service! Now, on 8/27, Lantern tells me they can't schedule my consultation until the doctor receives my medical records. BUT I GAVE THEM AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN THEM ON 7/28.
I'm essentially running circles and doing the legwork. What is the point of this company if they aren't truly going to advocate for their patients? I'm very disappointed and am also giving this feedback to my employer.

Full of promises they don't deliver
I need to have my gallbladder removed and wanted to save $5k so I contacted Lantern who works with my employer. The first conversation I had with them was great. They made all sorts of promises about how they were going to help me. I picked a doctor (he was fairly far away but I am okay with that) and waited. And waited. The Lantern rep called me a couple of times (at 7am my time because she forgot we were in a different time zone) to ask if the doctor had reached out. Finally, after two weeks, I called the doctor's office myself and they said they had not heard from Lantern. My rep e-mailed me twice more. I responded. No acknowledgment that she read or received my response. I finally called because the gas money I am supposed to get for driving to my appointment had not been put on the debit card they send you and I asked for a new rep. I called back today and was told by someone that they are understaffed so I could not change reps. When I asked to speak to a supervisor for help, I was told that supervisors don't take calls. Lantern has poor customer service and is extremely frustrating to use.

In an empty field, sometimes you find a Daisy.
There are certain people you never forget after a single conversation, and Daisy is one of them.
I have worked in customer service and customer experience for nearly 25 years, including e-commerce, so I know firsthand how difficult this profession can be. I've seen every kind of customer interaction imaginable, and I know what truly exceptional service looks like. Daisy is one of those rare people who has a genuine gift for helping others.
Her name couldn't be more fitting. Just like a daisy, she brought light, warmth, and kindness to a stressful situation. Daisies symbolize hope, joy, resilience, and new beginnings. They are simple yet beautiful flowers that brighten the spaces around them...and that's exactly what Daisy did for me. She made me feel heard, valued, and cared for.
She was patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, and never once made me feel like I was just another person on the phone. She listened, explained everything clearly, and treated me with genuine empathy. Those qualities can't be taught; they come from the heart.
If every person treated others the way Daisy does, the world would truly be a better place. Kindness is contagious, and Daisy has the kind of heart that reminds you there are still wonderful people in this world.
Lantern should be incredibly proud to have someone like Daisy representing their company. Employees like her don't just answer calls...they leave a lasting impression.
Daisy, thank you for making such a positive impact on my day. I hope you receive the recognition you deserve, because people like you are rare. I wish you nothing but happiness, success, and every blessing in life. Please keep being exactly who you are. The world needs more Daisies.

I've read everyone's complaints
I've read everyone's complaints. There is a clear pattern. They offer you a doctor that is so far away, they hope you cancel and give up. The company I work for actually picked them for our insurance. It is disgusting. We are getting a lawyer and working with our local News channel. We scheduled my wife's surgery with them and picked a doctor with them. One week before the surgery , they canceled and said he is not in our network for that procedure, but you can go to these people instead. They are over 100 miles away. Which is illegal in Florida. Check your state laws people. Worst company ever!!! BIG SCAM. Get your company and local officials involved. Do not let them get away with this crap.

Horrible Process
To begin with, their network is very limited. I live in Houston, with the largest medical center in the world and they don't have a single cardiologist in their network. I have to fly to Orlando for 15 minute office visits and the procedure itself. The communication with their healthcare advocates are horrible and I've had several for one procedure. They never responded to any of my emails and when you call, you never get the same person. The travel arrangement process is very difficult. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor Alexis, wouldn't listen to my concerns and refused to talk to me.
