Hi Tariq, It sounds like you must have chosen GPT-4 which uses 5 times more credits. It is clearly stated on the Pricing page and on the KoalaWriter page: "Using GPT-4 results in a 5x increase in word count usage. For example a 1,500-word article will consume 7,500 words of your usage allowance. GPT-4 often results in much higher quality articles especially for technical topics." When our users miss these messages and contact our support then we always reset their credits as a one time courtesy. But it looks like you never contacted our support. However, I've gone ahead and reset your credits. Please make sure not to select GPT-4 if you don't want to use it and in the future you can easily contact our support if you run into any issues.

This individual purchased our $9 plan three times and used all of the 45,000 credits associated with their purchases. If you buy the same plan then your credits will automatically stack. They emailed us saying they got billed three times and asked for a refund on two purchases. Within minutes, before our support had time to respond to them, they posted in our Discord community accusing us of scamming them. Due to their behavior, we decided not to work with them so we refunded all of their purchases and prevented their account from making further purchases. Despite giving them a full refund even after using all 45,000 credits, they are still accusing us of being a scam and being very rude to us. The reason their credits were used up quickly was due to a combination of using GPT-4 and the language that they chose. In most situations like this when there is confusion we will reset their credits as a one time courtesy, however in this situation we chose not to work with this individual any further due to her behavior. The word count for individual articles is displayed prominently at the top of the page indicated by the "Word Count". They never asked for a receipt of their refunds which we would have happily supplied them. Also, GPT-4 was only released 6 months ago so it is not possible that they have been using it for "for over 8 months".

Hi Rob, thanks for your feedback! GPT-4 currently costs us around 20x more than GPT-3.5. So we have to pass on part of that cost to users or we would be losing money. This is common practice for AI writing software that offers both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4. As the cost of GPT-4 comes down then we do plan to also pass that on to our users :) I'm glad to see you've been a Koala user for several months now and I hope you continue to enjoy our service.
