I traded a 2 year old jeep Cherokee in for a new 2023 loaded sportage. HUGE MISTAKE!! This is the 1st vehicle in 51 years that I’ve had so many issues with! When you call of things, they have nothing but excuses.

FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST KIA AMERICA, INC
I am filing this formal complaint against Kia America, Inc. re their arbitrary and unfair denial of my safety recall reimbursement claim.
1. In Feb 2026, my '20 Kia Telluride developed a serious, dangerous defect: the driver's power seat failed to retain its programmed position, moved forward on its own until it hit the full-fwd position & the switch became stuck so the seat could not be adjusted
2. After trying the owner's manual reset procedures w no success, I took the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealership & was charged $301.56 for seat repair
3. 5 mos later Kia issued an official safety recall re the driver's power-seat fuse assembly.
4. Submitted my repair inv and pmt receipt for reimbursement ; repair was the same safety defect.
5. Kia denied my reimbursement claim w a form letter, asserting that "the electronic fuse assembly was not installed" on invoice; claiming it was a "misdiagnosis or regular maintenance."
Kia's denial relies is a technicality to dodge expenses. I brought my vehicle to an authorized dealership so their trained technicians could diagnose and resolve the hazard correctly. Penalizing a customer because they replaced the switch or assoc hardware before Kia officially pinpointed the exact fuse assembly in a later recall is unreasonable.
I have considerable professional experience as a former supplier to one of Kia's Tier 1 producers in LaGrange, GA, giving me firsthand familiarity with Kia's specifications, components, and supply chain standards. This background makes me acutely aware of product quality and manufacturer accountability.
Documented component failure leads to a safety recall. For the sake of a few $$$ Kia is alienating a loyal customer with deep industry ties and refusing to do the right thing. I am requesting that corporate leaders review this file based on common sense and the undeniable chronology of the defect, rather than using rigid technicalities to avoid reimbursing a good-faith safety repair.

KIA ignoring latent defects
Good afternoon KIA America
Thank you for your response.
I understand that safety recalls are VIN-specific and that my 2020 Kia Telluride is not currently included in Recall SC347. However, your response continues to overlook the fundamental safety concern I have repeatedly raised.
My concern is not about warranty coverage or recall eligibility. It concerns a potentially identical safety defect that Kia has already recognized as a hazard in other Telluride vehicles.
Through Recall SC347 (NHTSA Campaign 25V494), Kia has acknowledged that exterior door molding may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating a potential road hazard and increasing the risk of an accident.
My 2020 Telluride is exhibiting what appears to be the same condition, presenting a similar potential danger to its occupants and other motorists.
The exclusion of my vehicle, or any other Telluride, from an existing recall does not establish that the vehicle is free from the same safety defect.
I am therefore requesting that Kia address the actual safety concern rather than continue to reiterate that my vehicle is not covered by the recall.
Specifically, I request:
A formal technical evaluation of the reported condition by Kia's Product Safety or Engineering Department.
An explanation of any technical differences between the molding components, materials, design, and attachment methods used in my 2020 Telluride and those involved in Recall SC347.
A written safety determination addressing whether the reported condition presents a safety risk and identifying the technical basis for Kia's conclusion.
Appropriate corrective action at Kia's expense if the investigation establishes that my vehicle is affected by the same or a substantially similar safety defect.
I am requesting that Kia investigate a reported safety concern based on its technical merits rather than dismiss it solely because my vehicle falls outside the existing recall population.
As the manufacturer, Kia possesses the engineering expertise, production records, and technical information necessary to determine whether this condition is associated with the same or substantially similar components, materials, or design deficiencies identified in the recall.
A vehicle's exclusion from a recall establishes only that it is not included in that particular campaign. It does not, in itself, establish that the vehicle is free from the underlying safety hazard defect.
If Kia declines to investigate or provide corrective action, I respectfully request a written explanation identifying the technical and factual basis for that decision.
My preference is to resolve this matter directly and constructively with Kia. However, should my concerns remain unaddressed, I intend to submit the relevant correspondence, photographs, and supporting documentation to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Better Business Bureau, and other appropriate consumer protection agencies for their independent review.
I trust that Kia shares my commitment to identifying and addressing potential safety hazards before they result in preventable accidents or injuries.
I look forward to a substantive response addressing the specific concerns and requests outlined above, rather than another general statement regarding warranty limitations or recall eligibility.
Respectfully,
Carlos Mora

Dear M M
I apologize, but I have provided you with all the information we are able to share. At this time, there are no open service campaigns or safety recalls related to the trim on your vehicle.
If a campaign is ever released regarding the trim for your vehicle, you will be notified via first-class mail.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Kia America
They directed their response to my wife and not myself which I am a co-owner of the vehicle and the one that has been exchanging emails with them for the last several weeks.

Financed my car after leasing it
Financed my car after leasing it. They tried to take not one, but two lease payments after I bought it. Dealerships hitting me up for cars I've never looked at now the day after I financed. So they took one payment for my lease out of my bank after I owed nothing, and got an email saying recurring payment would be halted and I've hit my contract total. So after they pulled almost 500 out of my account after all that, I canceled the auto payments through my bank and now they're trying to pull it again and have added a late fee even though I owed them nothing. This company is a pile of dog shit.

VERY DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
VERY DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
I am extremely disappointed with Kia of Columbus, GA. The salesman, Kenneth, told my daughter she would receive 5 free oil changes and tires for life when she purchased her brand-new K5. When she returned for her first 8,000-mile oil change, she was told she had to pay and that those offers were never made.
The worst part is that three people heard Kenneth make these promises, yet manager Chris Child chose to defend his salesman instead of addressing the situation fairly.
My daughter is a young retired disabled veteran, not someone looking for something free. She simply expected the dealership to honor what she was promised. Yes, we should have gotten it in writing, but that does not make it right to promise something to make a sale and then deny it afterward.
Very poor business practice and very disappointing customer service. Get EVERYTHING in writing before buying from this dealership.

I have a 2020 Kia sorrento
I have a 2020 Kia sorrento. It uses a quart of oil in less than 1000 miles. That means it goes thru 5 quarts between oil changes There’s a technical service bulletin out about this motor but Kia refuses to do anything for me. I’ve done the consumption test. They say it’s ok per their standards. I’ve never in 55 years of owning cars add oil between oil changes. Additionally last November I got notice there was a recall and the part was ordered. Almost a year later the part still hasn’t come in. Now my warranty (100k miles) is over. Don’t buy a Kia. But a Santa Fe I had one for 13 years. 235k Never had to add a quart of oil

Kia Delray and Kia America, awful experience
Purchased the vehicle from Kia Delray on July 3, 2026, and, unfortunately, the delivery inspection was not done properly, with safety concerns. When the car sits outside in the sun, the metal/latch mechanism expands, and the hatchback trunk completely jams shut and will not open. This is a severe functional issue for a brand-new vehicle. For me, this is very important to be addressed as soon as possible, as I have a baby and can’t put a stroller inside the vehicle. Because this sale was less than 24 hours old, I brought the car back to Kia Delray service department immediately to have the trunk latch realigned or replaced under warranty, but they weren’t able to help. Loaner was provided to me, but I was told that because the loaner car was issued to me, that my car is not high priority and that someone will call me. Again, this is a brand-new car. When I picked up my vehicle and drove home, I also noticed that the tires were not properly aligned, the tire pressures were uneven, and one of the valve stem caps was missing. While the missing cap is a minor issue, it raises concerns that the vehicle was not thoroughly inspected before being delivered to me. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism after purchasing a vehicle, especially considering this is not our first purchase from the same dealership. In fact, my wife and I were planning to return later this year to purchase another vehicle. Unfortunately, this experience has made us reconsider. Kia America agreed on replacement because the care got paint damaged during the repairs and were 2 times unnecessarily . And two months later, the case is still open, and I am still on a loaner. I will never buy a Kia again, and this was my third brand-new KIA that I got.

DO NOT purchase this car!!!!!!!!
DO NOT purchase this car!!!!!!!!! The engine consumes an excessive amount of oil and causes damage to the engine. Then they will tell you the engine is damaged, so without an extended warranty it's your problem. Tried to sell me a rebuilt engine for $5000+....WHY would I do that when it's the same engine as the one giving me the problem. I only have 148,000 on the car. An engine should last longer than that...STAY AWAY!!
