Finding Strength and Community
For years, my health had its cycles — but the lows kept getting lower. Gaining weight, getting weaker, feeling like I was losing control. I saw Instagram ads for Kettlebell Transformation for months, even filled out the interest form once and never followed up. But eventually I went back and got signed up. And that was the first step of not being down about what could have been — and focusing instead on what's up ahead. I had never weight trained in my life. Running, biking, bodyweight stuff — on and off. Diet always a weak spot. The Hume Body Pod told the full story, beyond just the number on the scale. I looked at the shipment of bells and struggled to get the heavier ones up to our gym, wondering what I would ever do with those. I met my trainer, BT, and immediately felt connected and supported. His guidance on form and approach set me on the right path, and the chance to just shoot the breeze once in a while was just as valuable. From there, week after week, I got stronger and felt better. IT band, knee, and ankle pain that had been building for six months went away. Clothes started fitting better. The scale showed modest change — because I was replacing fat with muscle. And those larger bells that once seemed absurd to own became the center of my workouts (I even had to buy the next two sizes up just to keep up.). All in 16 weeks. The KT community has been a massive part of it too. Posting check-ins and getting cheers from people on the same journey. Being the one who gets to offer those cheers to others. And BT hunting me down after I went radio silent for a week when some unexpected things sent me sideways—not to call me out, but to lift me up. Another reminder to not be down about what could have been. Just show up the next day. And then the day after that. I've come a long way and Kettlebell Transformation has been key to that. I still have work to do—toward being the best version of me as a husband, a father, and in the rest of my life—and this program and community will be a big part of getting there.
