It is a mystery to me why I received an invoice for the online visa application at $51 and then my American Express card was charged $88. This is very unsatisfactory. Erlin Ibreck

I asked for a super expedited visa and it took more than 30 hours. I could have purchased one at the border. I followed up earlier but no one mentioned that I could use the receipt at the border so my colleagues had to leave without me. I am now taking a shuttle on my own.

Thank you for your review. It looks like there was some misunderstanding. You submitted the application at 09:55:34 AM GMT. We sent you the Visa Payment Invoice at 10:21 AM GMT on the same day along with the following email: Thank you for completing all the information required. Please download and print attached Kenya Visa Payment Invoice which will serve as your temporary visa to enter the country. Use it to board the plane and present it to Immigration for visa approval and issuance when you arrive in Kenya. We will send the actual visa to your email in the next 24-72 hours but if you have to travel before we do, you should have no problem entering the country using the Visa Payment Invoice. The payment invoice should have sufficed to get you to the country together with your friends. Admin

I have visited Kenya approximately 25 times over the past 6 years and it is irksome and excessively time consuming for me to have list all of my entries and departures. Something needs to be done about this. This information was not as far I am aware required under the old paper visa system.

Dear Dr. Duncan, We are sorry to hear that you had to spend some extra time to list all your entries and departures. The Government of Kenya did not specify to list all entries but the gist of doing this is for them to check there were no issues on your previous visits. We hope you enjoyed your stay in the country. We deliberately arranged our visas in advance, specifically for myself, as my new wife's couldn't be done till after our wedding day, 16th July. We reached Kenya after a long day's travelling, only to find there was no record of mine, although I'd already paid for it- really not impressed. I expect a full refund of the money paid.

The service took 3 days regardless of how much I paid for 1-day turnaround. As it turns out Kenya has on-site visas for less than $60 US. The international agent laughed at me for buying these visas. The information was listed in his computer, so the application was complete; but I did not know it was complete until I was at the border.

I was envisioning after having purchased my visa on line that I would be in the short que to get through immigration. Turns out just the opposite. I paid extra for a 3 hour turn around on the visa (on line) which totaled US$118. Turns out the visa when solicited on the spot from a form provided by immigration in the airport costs just US$50. Also, even though I solicited the visa on line the day before, I did not receive the visa and had to go through a lengthy process in the immigration office after having stood in line to get passed through by the officer at the normal station. My advice is DO NOT use this system for obtaining entry visa into Kenya!!

Dear Philip, In answer to your points. 1. The rush fees (US$30 on top of the visa cost and service fee) ensures that your application is on the priority list i.e. on top of a very large pile or in front of a very long queue of visa applications. Most of our travelers think that this is a small price to pay for a hassle-free visa experience. This is unlike applying for a visa on arrival at the airport, where you pay for the visa cost only but you'd have to stand for hours in a long queue. 2. As mentioned earlier, your application was on the short list of priority orders. We submitted your application ASAP and Kenyan immigration responded within the hour. We delivered your e-visa in 56 minutes, well within the deadline. Moreover, you can get a hold of us through chat, email or phone if you have not received your e-visa within the deadline. We would have found ways to deliver your e-visa had you sought our assistance. Thanks, Susan

Needed many assistance as the system did not retain our e-mail address and our password. I had to go back numerous times to provide same information over and over. It was very frustrating.
