JVC/CURRYS- AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
JVC/CURRYS- AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Bought JVC LT-32CA22 "smart" TV from Curry's. 32 days later I had had enough. Slow to start. Slow to change channel (when it deems to let you). Sometimes blank screen on turning on. Remote works when it feels like it. Every other time you turn on, TV Guide shows "No Information". To get guide you must perform reboot, or turn off on at plug. Likes to freeze up on changing channel, again needing on off at plug. Last night tried to watch BBC1. It told me my aerial was not connected. This was odd, as every other of the hundred plus channels were working. Only when on BBC1 did my aerial, apparently, disconnect itself. Have been buying TVs since mid 80s. This is the worst TV I've ever owned. Took it back to Curry's today. Was told, as I had owned it for more than 28 days (by 4 days!) all they could do was send it away for "repair". This would take at least 14 days. Having, subsequently, read the reviews, I knew it didn't need repairing. The TV is badly designed/made. Curry's staff feigned surprise at TVs performance. Judging by the reviews, they must be aware of the problems with JVC TVs. Curry's should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to sell this rubbish. Coincidently, this exact same model from Curry's was placed in a rest room at my place of work a week before I bought mine. I wish I'd taken more interest, as it has all the same faults as mine. Curry's now seems to be staffed, mainly, by gormless children. I only went in there as I was in a rush to replace broken TV. VERY STUPID MISTAKE! I normally buy any HiFi/TV equipment from Richer Sounds. There you will find knowledgeable, friendly, interested staff, not to mention products that actually work. I would highly recommend them, they are not just there for HiFi "nerds", but are happy to help normal people. Their customer service is also excellent. Their website is also excellent, if you don't have a branch nearby. (I don't work for them, or know anyone who does). From this day on, I will never buy another product from Currys. I always tried to buy from actual shops, as I thought it was a good thing to support local jobs, and it was nice to physically see a product before purchasing it. I have now changed my mind. For TV/Hifi, I will stick to Richer Sounds. For white goods, I will try AO in the future, or maybe John Lewis as I have a branch here in Poole. Their prices aren't that bad, and their staff are a damn sight more polite/interested. Companys like Curry's don't deserve to be in business any more, I'm sorry to say.
