The "Good Neighbor" that was State Farm has moved!
I have had State Farm literally all my life. Both of my parents were State Farm employees with one in claims and the other retired as my states underwriting superintendant. As my Dad had you pay your own bills I've had their car insurance for 55 years. Several days ago I discovered my insurance draft this month was going to be 500-600 dollars lower and called to find out what the issue was as I wanted to be sure it drafted correctly. It took my agent several days to run it down but I was finally told that State Farm was cancelling my policies effective 04/29/2026. When I questioned why I was told it was for excessive claims. I have had, in the last 3 years, 3 actual accident claims only one of which was at fault and it cost them $1700. There is a lot of road construction in my area and I have had some comprehensive claims, i.e. windshields the only ones of which I turned in were because they created a vision obstruction and violated the law. They are paid over a $1000 per month for this coverage (for years) and and have never had a bit of problem cashing my checks. Whoever is running this company now has turned it into a poor copy of what it used to be. To add insult to injury they never directly notified me they were doing this, it was just a short paragraph on a bill I admittedly don't read unless I make a change as it's paid by bank draft. Use them at your own risk but don't expect any loyalty from them as your tenure as their insured means nothing.
