Good local office but are engaged in fraudulent charges on a canceled policy
We were with State Farm in Reno NV for three and a half years. The local agents (C Phenix) were professional, helpful and responsive. It was definitely a good local office. However, although the price of the homeowners policy remained reasonable, the prices of our umbrella policy and auto policies rose to the point of being unaffordable. We have not had a claim in our family for ANYTHING for over 45 years of being insured. We have had no accidents, no windshield wiper claims, no homeowners claims, no traffic violations, etc. EVER. Also, when we did finally cancel and switch to a more affordable company, State Farm mistakenly charged us anyway for one of the policies. They are failing to refund the entire amount. Underwriting is choosing to try to charge us a prorated fee on this fraudulent charge. They were not supposed to charge our card in the FIRST PLACE because we had canceled the policy exactly on the last day of our term. There is no excuse for this degree of incompetence. We will take State Farm to small claims court if necessary to get our money back that is an unauthorized charge on our credit card.
