Small harness is made with HUGE buckle and hardware
I would have loved this harness, if it had been proportionately designed for a small dog. Unfortunately they use a huge strap and buckle on the small dog size. So big that it hits the dogs elbow as they walk. I tried to loosen the front chest strap thinking that would put the harness further back. But all this accomplished was for the harness to hang low and across her front legs too far. I think this is a good harness for a larger dog perhaps. But they have not changed the size proportionately for a small dog on the attachment hardware, and it is not good. I had seen other comments about the hardware being too large before I made my purchase, but I thought ‘well big deal the clip is just on the large size’ - I had no idea of the consequences of this. The nylon webbing and the buckle are appropriate for a very large dog. But on the small harness it has a bad affect on the overall fit on a small dog. I don’t know why they don’t use smaller nylon web and smaller buckle for the small dog versions - Especially since many reviews have noted this as a problem. Unfortunately the reviews I read did not explain the impact this had on the dog. For my dog her elbow hit that buckle every time she walked because it is too large and juts forward and is in the way of her front legs. I could not keep it because of the discomfort to my dog as she tries to walk in it, and it is costing me $8 to return it.
