I like the harness however my mini poodle weighs 12 pounds. I order a small ( usual size and with in the measurement chart) and it is to big.

Hi Barb, Our size chart with the weight is usually pretty accurate. But we do also include the girth measurement also. We can definitely get an exchange set up for you. You'll just need your order number and this link: https://joyrideharness.loopreturns.com/#/

Well made harness! Our 5 mo old Cockapoo walked well with it - ordered 4-9 lb size (she is 9 lb). Snug fit, but when she “played” with the other puppies, she wriggled right out of it and was loose! We adjusted it twice, but same issue. Our “Houdini” can’t be trusted with it 😞

Sorry to hear that. I would suggest a "safety strap" it hooks from the collar to the harness. When she is supervised of course. But that way she wont be able to wiggle out. Good luck with the houdini.

I bought one of these a few years ago. The new one is still nice but I don’t like the fact that the D hooks don’t stay in place anymore. Something is different on how the D’s are attached.

We are aware of this and working on fixing it. Thank you for your feedback.

We haven’t used it enough to give a review, but at first glance and with limited experience so far, there is a concern that the buckle placement might hit at a sensitive spot near the leg.
Response from Joyride HarnessJul 8, 2022
If the buckle is rubbing or causing issue then we believe that harness needs to be adjusted for proper sizing and fit. If there is any friction or rubbing behind the leg then we recommend loosening up the front Velcro strap, so the harness sits further back on the dog. This should create enough distance between the buckle and the leg. Attaching a fur baby friend for reference. :)

I bought 3 harnesses and the only one that fits is the one that on one of my fluffy guys. The other two dogs Al have shorter hair and I’m constantly readjusting the harnesses. Not to mention my 85 pound guy can shrug and pull the harness over his head. I bought mediums for my 43 pound doodles and a large for my 85 pound doodle.

So I like the harness and it is easy to get on but getting it off is a different story. My dog fits a small harness so she's tiny and that giant buckle is really overkill and actually when it clicks on it scares her. Lol My one disappointment is that it hasn't really helped with pulling and she has managed to choke herself with this harness just like every other harness she is ever worn. That's actually her fault because she's kind of dumb and pulls way too hard. Overall I like the harness it's not perfect but it's good.

I love the seat belt attachment. The harness has a few options to clip on the leash and seat belt. The only downside is the velcro strap cannot be made smaller unless I physically cut off the excess. The snap around her body is great! However she was able to slip out because I couldn't tighten the velcro tighter.

Hi Michelle, The medium can size down to from 23"-28”. Would your dog maybe need a size small?

I like how the harnesses go on. Much easier then most. The buckles are a bit stiff. One in particular is very hard to get open once it’s on. The bright is good since my dogs fur is dark. Would like it better if it had some kind of light on them though. Where I live it’s dark a good portion of the year and nice to light my dogs up. Love the 3 ring option to attach the leash.

That is a great idea. We will consider this. We do offer the LED Dog Tag lights. https://joyrideharness.com/products/led-dog-tag-light
