Honor Home CareReviews of joinhonor.com

I knew Home Instead (LATER HONOR) was not cheap, but I was in a nightmare smelly nursing home with vile, watered down food, poor care, rude, badly trained staff & it was making me more sick. 1st week I paid with Go Fund Me, ditto, 2nd--then H.I. wanted payment in FULL -- 14,000.00+ in USD by then. Then "Honor" demanded same: pmt in full, not monthly pmts, which I could do, and offered to, several times. The total soon went up to $17,000+ in USD. I consulted a bankruptcy lawyer, who talked me out of it, thankfully. By then, I was notified by my bank of a "problem:" Honor HAD CLEANED OUT MY SAVINGS AND CHECKING ACCOUNTS, LEAVING A +6,600.00 OVERDRAFT!! While I had my bank block Home Instead (that was a $30.00 fee), I overlooked "Honor", who had taken over my file. I called BoAmerica's fraud/scam department--they went to work and got my money back. Then I had my old accounts cancelled and got new ones, which disrupted my finances for days. I almost missed paying rent, which would have been another fee. Soon after, Honor sent a dunning email, again demanding payment in full -- NOW the total was $21,000.00! I checked with my lawyer. His reply: "The majority of your earnings come from Social Security. Social Security is an exempt income source. You are most likely "judgement proof," which means even if they sue you they will never be able to collect. If it were me, I would cut off communication with this group. Thanks, Matthew I'm doing exactly that. I'm 72, have RA & other health issues and subsist on Social Security. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR BANKING INFO---NOT ONE NUMBER!!!!!!

My husband has stage 7 Alzheimer's and is in hospice at home. He was dumped in the ER by a facility that was not willing to deal with end of life and then discharged to home. I contracted with Honor to provide 3 Care Pros 24/7 , seven days a week. Since he is in hospice, my fees went up. I requested Care Pro's who have CNA, dementia, deescalation , hoyer lift, training and experience. Many of the Care Pros are excellent but many have never changed an adult diaper in their life. Honor keeps sending me untrained no or low experience Care Pros and I have to do all the work. When I called in advance to find out what the qualifications are for the next shift, Honor was unable to tell me the qualifications of the person they scheduled. No wonder, Honor keeps sending over unqualified Care Pros. Any company that is unable to match the clients needs with staff qualifications is incapable of fulfilling the terms of the contract and you may be assured your loved one will not receive the care you are paying for. Home Instead was a great company but since Honor bought them, they may no longer be relied upon to provide quality care.

Worst Company EVER!!! Do Not place your family/ loved ones with this Extremely Unprofessional Company!

Will hire you but then not give you any hours and make you drive really far away with no reimbursement! Staff wasn’t communicating until i finally quit.

Promise you hours then dont give you the hours you get promised. Cancel assignments and dont inform you of it. Then you give the hours you can work but blow your phone up for picking up shifts, and when you dont you get punished. They can communicate when it benefits them but when it benefits the employees forget it. They want to say they're about clients they are not. Just save yourself the headache and find a place that offers more money for your skills. You won't be appreciated.

These ppl are all over the place I can't even get no real communication andi just started

No shifts no bonuses don’t care if u don’t have transportation.

I worked with this company for about four years and always maintained a strong work record with no issues. My performance was consistently excellent, and I took pride in the care I provided. After taking time away due to a family emergency, I reapplied and was accepted back. However, for over a month, I was not given any shifts despite repeatedly reaching out and asking for work. I made multiple attempts to communicate and was ready and willing to work, but I received no support or scheduling. What’s most concerning is that my application was later canceled due to “not working,” even though I was actively requesting shifts and was never given the opportunity to do so. This feels extremely unfair and unprofessional. This experience has been disappointing, especially after years of dedication to the company. I would caution others to be aware that even if you have a strong history with them, scheduling and communication may not be reliable.
