bought a nifty angry tiki head shifter…
bought a nifty angry tiki head shifter knob for the ratrod. the head is heavy and well made, but the apparatus which attaches it to the shifter lever is plastic with two tiny (also plastic) allen bolts to tighten the knob onto the lever. immediately one of these bolts stripped right through the plastic housing, leaving one 3mm bolt to hold this enormous head on a tall lever for my 5-speed truck. the ebay seller said i had to contact the supplier, which was johnnylaw. long story short, a few emails, photos sent, and the johnnylaw service contact, noah, said they'd send me metal parts to attach the knob. a few days later, i was putting it together with better pieces and it works great. it was kind of a hassle, but their service was professional and sent the upgraded gear for no cost. i'd say it's good all the way around. i'll shop with johnnylawmotors.com directly next time and avoid ebay.
