you have to sign up to use it AFTER you send them your CV. Why not from the start? garbage CV collector with no real input
Response from Jobscan.coApr 23, 2026
Hello XO,
We understand why that’s frustrating. It may feels like an extra step when you just want quick feedback.
We ask for a signup after you upload your resume because the real value isn’t just a one-time scan. We’re saving your match rate, tracking changes, and letting you tailor multiple versions of your CV to different job descriptions. Without an account, you’d lose that progress and end up with a pretty surface-level result each time.
Our goal isn’t to collect CVs, it’s to give you something you can keep improving instead of starting from scratch every time. If you’re open to it, give Jobscan a try. You get 5 free scans each month after signing in, so you can test it out without committing to anything.

Quarterly Premium billed, service cut short – requesting refund or extra 3 months
I’m writing this review not to attack Jobscan, but to document a billing issue that I have been unable to resolve privately so far, and to give the company a final opportunity to fix it.
On December 25, 2025, I was charged 89.95 USD via Stripe for a Jobscan Premium quarterly plan after a Black Friday promotion promising a three‑month subscription (Dec 25, 2025 – Mar 25, 2026) at a discounted rate. The Stripe receipt clearly states “Three month subscription to Jobscan (Free trial, then 89.95 / 3 months)” with access through March 25, 2026.
In practice, I did not receive uninterrupted premium access for that full period. My access was limited/removed well before March 25, even though I had paid for three full months. I contacted Jobscan support on December 25 explaining that the product was too expensive for my situation and that I didn’t want to continue at the same pricing given some technical/usability issues. Instead of clearly confirming a cancellation or offering a pro‑rated solution, I was only offered another promotion link.
Later, I opened a formal dispute with my card issuer (Citi Double Cash) under “canceled service/goods”. Citi initially granted a conditional credit and then reversed it after the merchant responded, effectively stating that I am responsible for paying 89.95 USD for a three‑month subscription that I never fully received.
From a consumer‑rights perspective in the U.S., charging for three months of service and failing to provide access for the full term is equivalent to charging for services not rendered / not as described. I have kept all documentation (Stripe receipt with the subscription period, Citi dispute letter, and Jobscan support emails) and I am prepared to escalate this further through my bank and relevant consumer protection authorities if necessary.
However, I genuinely prefer to resolve this directly with Jobscan and keep this as a positive example of how the company handles edge cases. At this point, I respectfully request one of the following good‑faith resolutions:
A full refund of the 89.95 USD to my original payment method, or
A new three‑month Premium period added to my account, with written confirmation that my access will remain active through the full term without early limitation.
If Jobscan can help me with one of these options, I will gladly update this review to reflect that the company stands behind its customers and its subscription promises. I believe this would be a fair and reasonable outcome for both sides.
I am available to provide my receipt, account email, and Citi dispute documentation directly to Jobscan so they can verify everything and respond appropriately.
Jobscan, please feel free to reply here and I will contact you directly so we can fix this in a way that’s fair.
Best,
Bruce

I've used yall for years and now the power edit feature is gone and you can no longer change the color of headings (you guys had blue, purple and green). The product used to be seamless and intuitive - not anymore. Please bring back the old Jobscan!

Thank you for being a long-time user and for sharing your feedback. We really appreciate it.
We understand how frustrating it is to lose familiar features like Power Edit, especially when they were part of your workflow. We’ve recently introduced updates to improve overall performance, and we’re actively working to restore more flexibility and customization.
We truly appreciate your support and hope you’ll continue exploring the new features as we continue to improve.

No longer the great tool
Going to be honest, I used to find using JobScan quite successful in the past, but recently things have changed. No longer getting invited to interview on cold applications.
I clearly feel while the application works well, I am curious if AI mass application are making JobScan dead and useless to pay for.
I'd be worried for their business and curious what they are doing to correct this.

AVOID! Charged for a year without using JobScan
I wish I had read the reviews before subscribing to JobScan. Sharing my experience so others can be aware.
If I could rate JobScan 0 stars, I would.
I subscribed last year, used the service briefly, and thought I had canceled. Unfortunately, I had not, and only just discovered that I have been charged for an entire year, despite not logging into my account or using the service during that time.
When I realised this, I contacted their support team and explained the situation. I was not asking for a full refund, only for the last 3 billing cycles (about 9 months). I pointed out that there had been no activity on my account for over 12 months, which they could easily verify.
Despite this, they only offered to refund $59, which does not even cover the cost of one billing cycle.
This experience made it clear that customer fairness and accountability are not priorities for JobScan. I expected better service and a more reasonable approach to situations like this.
Looking back, the product itself was not useful. In fact, tools like ChatGPT can do a much better job when it comes to resume editing and tailoring job applications. If you are still looking for help with your resume, I would genuinely recommend trying ChatGPT instead.
Hopefully this helps others make a more informed decision, or at least double check their subscriptions. I will not be using or recommending JobScan to anyone I know.

Charged for ‘free’ trial despite cancelling it early
I had an underwhelming experience with this site. I found its interface and usability rquite clunky. For example, it had problems identifying chunks of my resume when I uploaded it, as well as the job descriptions. This resulted in it being inefficient time-wise. Also, the price is quite hefty for the quality of the offering.
I cancelled my two-week trial almost a week before it was due to expire, yet I was still charged for a full subscription. I logged this with support via email and received the most benign and oblivious response. The customer service rep didn’t answer my questions or suggest a resolution, just blathered on about having access to the site for the next three months. They’ve also ignored my follow up messages.
Poor experience overall.
