This was the second year that I had gone to JH and the first time was wonderful with Jerry Preddy but this year a lady named Bobbie Richards did my taxes and she was just terrible, just terrible... She told me that I would have to pay back any stimulus money that I received and she deducted in from tax filing status so it looked like she did it right and I then find out that I infact did not have to pay it back at all. She lied to me and took away my money that I worked hard for all year. I called the Customer service line and they were clueless because again Bobbie made it so that in my tax refund that she did it right and she lied to me, customer services lied to me and the manager of this location, let me tell you he was a treat as well. I lost out on $1800 and the child tax credit, was only given $500 for that. This place is a disgrace, I tried to contact the IRS about this because I was told by this store manager that my taxes were already filed and there was nothing he could do. I can not believe that this happen to me, I am so livid!! And now when I go to the IRS to check the status of my refund, It is gone, they can not find it... I worked really hard for this money and because of JH's screw up I may never see it. So thank you very much, just thank you, your awesome.......... I will NOT be going back to JH ever again, I will take my business elsewhere. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT let Bobbie Richards do your taxes, Kernersville NC They have officially lost my business, they should be shut down or bring in ppl that actually know what they are doing because she clearly did not!!

I’ve never seen someone so rude. Brittany wouldn’t do my taxes because and I quote her the white girl ain’t here to do it. I will never use Jackson Hewitt again. How do you not know someone’s name you work with. Had the white girl that wasn’t there said that about Brittany which by the way is of color would’ve been considered racist. I will not recommend a racist company

Scumbags. Last year my wife and I were put into a position to take advantage of their highly predatory refund LOAN so we could get our children some new school clothes. Because my wife had quit a job that paid out her retirement, Jackson Hewitt charged us $600 in tax prep fees. The highest tier of fees they had. Same as business owners, property owners, and investors with huge portfolios. Flash forward to the pandemic response of 2020. Now because we chose to let Jackson Hewitt rape us last tax season we will have to wait until our tax refund is released to hopefully get our MUCH NEEDED stimulus and because we claim an EITC that will not be until the end of Feb (hopefully) AND that is if the IRS doesn't use the pandemic as an excuse to delay our tax corruspondance and if we get our w2s timely from our employers.

They are no good they don’t help got denied for there lone last year talked to them they said it was all fixed same thang this year Customer service sucks don’t help in any way

We unhappy we missing receive $1200. Jackson Hewitt they should have a better train their employee to be service customer, I never never going back to this Company again. charge me $350 they made mistake typing my address is wrong friend of mind call the main operation try to get it correct they sent us to the office about 10 mile drive from where we live we got over there saw the lady about to leave the office we was nice let her know why we here for but first she refuse she told us to go irs.gov correct it our-self or she will charge $100 we try to claim and explain this is your mistake you guys should help us to correct it she reply us pay it or leave it we not even inside the office yet we still standing outside after we heard that we step down to the parking lot some how she call a cop on us i dont know what she told the cop this rude cop don't want to listen just ask us to leave the place we left the place without any sense, whats a stupid regulation rule of jackson Hewitt? i should had receive the $1200 by now if she put me the right address or help to re-correct it. Sad :(

My husband and I went to a location in Gresham, OR and had our taxes done. Gentleman did it, made errors that I caught while there. Gave us the wrong info and charged us 350 to get it done when we were told 180ish over the phone. We paid the state tax we owed as soon as we got our federal refund in. I don't like waiting and wanted to make sure it was taken care of. We got a letter in the mail stating that we owed another 300. Not happy with their service and not going back.

I filed my 2017 taxes in 2018 and the preparer Abigail in Sanford, FL seemed to be lost and constantly on the phone which made me very nervous and for good reason. She made a terrible mistake that caused Illinois State IRS to put a levy on my bank account on 10-4-19. I worked in IL from January 2017 to April 2017 and moved to New York from May 2017 to December 2017. Abagail, my inexperience tax preparer entered my entire gross pay for 2017 under my Illinois State tax. This showed that I owed over $1800 in back taxes. I must submit an IL 1040X Addendum for my state tax with the correction of my gross pay for 4 months that I worked in Illinois. Once I have completed this task, I then must email my IL 1040X to the Illinois tax levy department along with all W2s. You think Jackson Hewitt helped me? Not a chance. H&R stands by their customers, though they’re a bit more expensive, it’s well worth the money. Big fail and I wouldn’t ever do my year-end tax filing with Jackson Hewitt again! Thanks for putting me through this experience Jackson Hewitt. Maybe you need to provide better training for your tax preparers.

I filed my 2017 taxes in with Jackson Hewitt for the primary purpose of using the refund advance that they offered, we didn't get approved being that we had an offset; thinking that was the issue. -Fast forward to 2018 taxes- We asked about the No Fee Refund Advance, and were told we are prequalified and that it shouldn't be an issue because it comes straight from your refund. We got denied, I called the office that I filed with for an explanation as to how or why, and was told that the bank who authorizes the loans does not do credit checks and that it's something to do with my refund . I called the bank that provides the loans and they verified that they do soft credit checks. So now (regardless if it is a soft credit check), we've had a credit report pulled without our consent as it wasn't mentioned and have to pay $422 for a service that I could have done myself for free. We will no longer be using Jackson Hewitt, simply because they withheld information for a reason that seems to just be used as a way to pull clients in an take their money. Going to read reviews before hand from now on and continue to use the free tax prep services online.
