NEVER FILE TAXES WITH JACKSON HEWITT, I literally just got done filing my taxes with them and they charged me $800 to file my taxes when I could have filed them anywhere else and got $1000 more back on my refund.

My Daughter. my husband and I and myself for my Deceased father all went to get taxes done. Nothing but mistake after mistake!! My daughter was told that she makes too much and did not get money back, She is 24 living on her own and made under 13,000?????? She ended up getting a bit more back after IRS looked at taxes. I took my deceased fathers taxes in and he owed quite a bit not like he usually did, aside from that the main manager was working on it remotely and I saw a message from him on the screen complaining he didnt have time for this! Imagine that DO YOUR JOB! They told me that he did not owe any state tax just federal. So I paid the 300 fee and went home. I happened to look over the papers and it said he owed 900 dollars for state! If I would not have seen that he would have been fined! I took it back and another person looked at it and said they should have gone over it with you. Ug And then I get a letter back from IRS giving us 1800 dollars back! Our taxes for my husband and I were messed up too and were wrong. This was at the Brownsville TN branch. Will never go there again! Then I was getting calls that the check I gave them to pay for my Dads fees was no good! They read me back numbers and the person that took information wrote down the wrong numbers! I told them that I didnt feel that I should have to pay some or any of the filing charges and they were going to send me to the manager. Then they wanted to use my debit card I said until I speak to manager no number will be given! Still waiting to hear. WARNING DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL!

I had my sister's taxes calculated and filed by their Highland office and was given a summary form that indicated a $1,214 refund. About a month later I got a letter from the IRS that said the Recovery Rebate Credit was disallowed and that I actually owed $186.35. I called Jackson to see if they would refund a portion of their $238 fee and have yet to receive a returned call.

I have had 4 appointments with J&H, not one of them was close to on time except the last one, which is post tax season. One time, they unilaterally changed my appointment from 3:30 to 3:15 but did not actually see me until 4:10. The last appointment was a complete waste of time, firstly because it was to amend the state return because they made a mistake costing me $519, and secondly because after I ruined my afternoon to be there they could not complete the amendment because their printer would not work. They gave my return only cursory attention, hence the major omission of a tax credit. They did not go over the return with me, so I did not know of the mistake until after it was filed. I spent HOURS on the phone trying to get to someone who could correct the error, I was told by someone clueless that I was not eligible for the credit (nonsense). Finally got someone who knew what the heck they were doing now to come in today not to have the printer working. Now going to correct their error myself. Should have done that in the first place; it would have been less aggravation and saved me money.

Jackson Hewitt advertised on their website 59.00- no more than 179.00 for federal return at Walmart stores. which we were charged 179.00 last year. this year they charged us 448.00 after Leading us to believe we were paying 179.00 we were not provided with a itemized page of fees nor were we provided with our copy of the federal income tax forum with the amount of our return on it. when I call their offices all I get is the run around, no managers available to help me at all! I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPNAY AGAIN AND I SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER! Also the person who did our taxes put my DLN in wrong for state return Now that has been delayed, we only got back 246.00 from federal after fees! I'm afraid to see what we will have on our state after fees I talked to our tax preparer and she did not even apologize.

Made an appointment at Walmart supercenter. Person sends text that someone will be with me shortly. 40 minutes later I'm still standing there. No one ever showed up. How unprofessional. I'm sick I wouldn't have gone out if I new I was going to be blown off.

Had an appointment Mar 7 11:00am conformation #k1wv018jys00cxl8. I arrived ten minutes before this appointment and waited till 11:25 am. Nobody showed up. Later today around 2:30pm, I received an EMAIL from JH. THEY made an an appt for me for another day and time. And they expect me to notify them 4 hours before this appointment to cancel. What happens if consumers do not cancel there appt, like JH.

If I could give negative stars I would. Their customer service is one of the worst I have experienced. My first experience with JH - tax preparer was over 10 minutes late for the appointment. Then proceeded to tell a "walk-up" customer (who had a later appointment but was in a hurry), that as soon as she logged in and was "on the clock" she would help him. This was totally ignoring me!! When I informed her that I had an appointment time that was already running late, and expecting at the minimum an apology and informing the other client that he would have to come back at a later time, I got nothing. I certainly do not feel that I could trust my financial interests with a person that showed so little concern, and that obviously cannot tell time (figured numbers would be important). I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to have tax work done.
