It literally makes you suffer for getting 1 question wrong by literally setting back your score by like 12 points. You do 6 questions for 2 points each just to get 1 question wrong and lose it all. It bullies you with stupid questions that are so incoherent and non-sensical for no reason. I never really hate on things, but this is a special exception.

This program is absolutely terrible. It doesn't give a great explanation when you get a question wrong and causes great stress. When a question is answered correctly it will go up 2 point but when you get one wrong its goes down like 10 points. I do not recommend this program its one of the worse I've ever used.

IXL is not a good learning app for kids because of the way it is structured. "Smart Score" makes it sound like if you don't get a 100 Smart Score you are not smart. The website is depressing for children, a 98 smart score, one question wrong and you have to spend 10 more minutes on the assignment. The higher the Smart Score the fewer points you get for answering a question right, so you'll be losing more points for missing a question than points you get awarded for getting a correct answer. This makes the process more tiresome and sad. Also, the pricing is insane for how bad it is! $10/month for this awful website. I would much rather have paper homework than IXL because, in theory, you could spend an infinite amount of time on an IXL. Overall, IXL is very bad and I would not recommend getting it for a kid of any age. Reflex Math and Prodigy are much better options.

I was at 98 smart score and got a question wrong. The hell with this system it's a piece of shit. Even in quarantine and now! IT NEVER CHANGES!!

Ixl is so unfair, the smart score system drops your score by at least 10 points and progressively diminishes your gains. all you get for completion is just a digital sticker and since its so tedious, students happen to go faster and pass the suffering which only leads to more mistakes and suffering. The explanations are horrible and confusing.
