This is a Seventh Grader writing this and IXL sucks so bad. Anyone that uses Ixl is probably Brain washed it just so bad. Once again im in 7th Grade so its Hard too write a good bad review but I'm trying the most I can One reason why Ixl is bad is because of there stupid grading system; Smart Score What is Smart Score you ask it is a Grading System that when you answer an Question you get like 5 points or lower and if you get a question wrong you lose probably 20-10 points. Something y'all didn't know right now they have a Lawsuit right now Ixl has been caught leaking Students Ixl Data to the public and if you don't go here for the reviews it and you go to the reviews on IXL it only shows the good Reviews Fun Fact The Ixl Reviews are made up from AI (artificial Intelligence )

every time when I use IXL, my brain keeps hurting. Whenever I'm assigned ti use IXL, I just read reviews of it instead. Honestly, I would like to go back to Iready because it's really nostalgic for me. IXL should not stress alot of kids, even though I agree with all the 1 star reviews. I wish IXL should either redo itself entirely or just not exist anymore

Inaccurate benchmark grading. The questions were college-level+, and it's saying I'm at a fifth-grade level. That is diabolical, no second grader is going to get calculus questions right.

IXL is the worst of the whole semester. Don't even bother to buy IXL, DON'T! This can ruin ur children's minds and increase anxiety and depression. I've been through this; I thought is going to be better than other website education, but I was wrong. It didn't let me get 90 points because of the shitty SmartScore feature. OVERALL, DON'T BUY IT!

OK a 7th grade KID is writing an essay for a stupid platform that should not even exist. I would like to address a growing problem that started from the release of IXL, in 2007, the start of this horrible platform. IXL is a very well known platform, by students and even adults but not for many good reasons. IXL has over 45,000 horrible reviews from over 5 platforms, all because of IXL’s grading feature; SmartScore. You may ask, “What is SmartScore, and what is so bad about it?” SmartScore is a 0-100 grading system, centered on answers. Over hundreds of schools, this single grading system has caused thousands of broken spirits, minds, relationships with learning, and even laptops. A severe case of all 4 of these is McPherson Middle School. In 2025, after implementing IXL math programs, McPherson Middle School faced severe student resentment, distraction, and frustration. Compounded by general digital fatigue, the school ultimately had students turn in their laptops entirely and returned heavily to a paper-and-pencil curriculum. Here’s the final but arguably most important thing, many people are asking, if everybody hates IXL, why do 14 million students and educators use it? The opinions on IXL vary heavily between two sides, Parents and students, and educators and teachers. Parents and their children absolutely hate IXL because of its genuinely obnoxious SmartScore. Educators and teachers say that “I'm able to track their growth easily and assign skills on their levels to differentiate with no added workload for me.” and "We can track student progress through the diagnostic assessments and can see it's working.” The real difference is that IXL is CONVENIENT a billion dollar company does not care about how students and parents feel about them torturing 14 million kids, they care about money. Teachers use IXL because it's easy to access data. IXL does have excellent ways of tracking progress, but lacks at teaching students.

My son used Ixl in his school, it was very frustrating for him. His teachers said because he wasn’t doing IXl, he wasn’t smart, the platform also was giving him stuff way below his level and things multiple grades ahead. We found an alternative, and know my son is doing math 3 grades ahead of him, and has a 4.0 gpa

i'm a 7th grader and holy shit this is stress inducing and I have to do this every single day and they bribe us with the top 3 gets donuts and that's only in math class and the rest care about numbers and I have bad anger issues too witch that crucifies me too because I can't get mad at it because I would get a lunch detentions
