It's a scam I made a huge mistake by signing in with them. Firstly, I was quoted $3,250 dollars but they took $3,750. I was not worried at first because I was told that I can cancel anytime and will only pay for the dates arranged. I had 2 useless dates within the first 6 months of membership. At that point I decided to cancel. Thru that time I went thru 4 different match makers, who all assured me of dates. They all lied. There were no dates. They told me that I can transfer my contract to someone, so I did, but that did not work out. I live in Vancouver, but my matchmakers, all of them were in Florida. I will keep pursuing to get my money back. I called my credit card and they are working on it now. These scammers should not get away with this. Also, I am a senior person and ALL my matchmakers were young, young people who had no understanding of anything, just smooth sales pitch. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up, but I did not. Well, I have no date and lots of free time to pursue this. Do not give up on your own fights those that have been treated the same way, we cannot let them get away with this. The solution that IJL provided is: Will put your membership on hold for future use. My experience with Luiza has been awesome so far. I really feel like she heard me and respected what I was looking for and understood my culture and how it's important to me. Also, Elizabeth, who was the person who did my intake is part of my support and continues to be supportive through this process. It's really nice that I have support like this because dating can be daunting.

I have been with IJL for approximately three months, and it has been a great experience. My matchmaker Alexis is very detail-oriented with the type of woman I want to meet to build a relationship with. After my 2nd date, I had a concern, and she took immediate action to update my profile and my dates have greatly improved that they are the highlights of my weeks. I have a whole team working with me and that is inspiring and encouraging in my quest to find my soulmate. I highly recommend IJL

My Aunt had a great experience with IJL 10 years ago; it's where she found her husband. With everything she explained, it sounded like a great opportunity to try. Unfortunately, the service she received was nothing like I did. She described a company who spent a lot of time trying to get to know her, had extensive post-date follow ups to really understand what worked and didn't, and tried their best to really find a match. The best conversation I had was with the person who handled my intake. She really seemed to care about what I was looking for and understood it was far more important that matching hobbies on a profile page. Sadly, the matchmaker I was assigned to must have had a different opinion. The only information provided about potential dates was their hobbies, and when I expressed concern over personality fit I was told you couldn't judge people on that from their profiles. NONE of the matches met the criteria I laid out (intelligent, confident, witty), other than the bare minimum required by law (age, race, and gender). The follow ups after a date consisted of a form email (what did you like, what didn't you like, is there a 2nd date?), and I never engaged in any conversation with anyone about how the dates went. Once my quota of dates was satisfied, I have never heard anything since. No thank you for your business, no final check in to see how my experience went. They just didn't care. Update: As indicated in the reply, yes, I did exchange information with my last match for a second date. That date never occurred as we quickly discovered we were definitely not a match. But as my review was not about that the matches themselves but quality of service, it is worth noting there was no human discussion afterwards to get more information about why this was different or a check in to see if date #2 actually happened. No better than me just browsing profiles myself.

Started off strong. Had about 4-5 dates every 2 weeks apart. I have not been contacted about another date within the last month. The monthly payment isn't worth it because they loose touch with you after awhile.

I've found everything to be honest. Every person I was matched with, was what anyone would consider a winner: eligible, sincere, competent.

[updated] This post is about my experience with Its Just Lunch and not in any way a reflection on matchmakers who work here. I like my matchmaker and thank her for her hard work but I'm entitled to a refund that is not being issued and people should know about this before becoming a client. I hope this post helps others avoid the pitfall that I found with this company. -- I live in West Palm Beach Florida and signed up with the Its Just Lunch office in Miramar, Fl. I was contacted by Its Just Lunch Sales late last year for their $4K package. This is a lot of money for me and I was skeptical so I was sure to ask about their refund policy in their contract. I was assured several times that I would receive a refund less $500 processing fee (which was in their contract) if they were unable to find suitable matches for me. I was okay with losing $500 so I signed. I joined this matchmaking service in mid/late February, went on only one date then had to pause briefly in April when they still couldn’t find additional matches and they started refusing a refund. It is now October and I’ve been on only four dates since February and I’m still being refused a refund. To be clear, Its Just Lunch is unable to provide their matching service and is still withholding my refund. The last date I went on was in June (that’s three months ago). I have not been contacted by anyone in weeks and the last two “matches” canceled before the date. Yet Its Just Lunch is denying me a refund. Everyone who gets on the phone with me reads from a condescending script saying “they want to keep working me” until I am too frustrated to continue. One person simply said “you’re not getting your money back”. I know others have reported the same thing. Is this really the reputation Its Just Lunch wants? If a contracted service cannot be provided then a refund should be issued. For anyone considering this service, here are some pitfalls you should be aware of before trusting the salespeople and signing a contract: The contract (at the time that I signed in February) is vague, it gives Its Just Lunch full oversight and very little responsibility or accountability to clients for finding suitable matches. There is language in the contract stating that a refund would be issued if they are unable to find matches, however it is at their full discretion and in my case, Its Just Lunch is refusing to issue a refund even though they are unable to find matches because they “want to work with me”. They don’t really have to do much here and that puts all the risk on the client. In hindsight, I wouldn’t want to engage in a partnership with a company that protects itself and leaves its clients exposed in situations like these. A reputable, credible company would issue a full refund after so many months of inactivity and after causing so much grief. A reputable company would admit wrongdoing. I shouldn’t have to fight them. Summary: -Its Just Lunch told me I was entitled to a refund if matches couldn’t be found -I joined in February, went on one date, by April I still had no additional matches, yet Its Just Lunch still denied a refund. -They paused my account. Then they restarted my account with a new matchmaker. Between July - October I’ve had zero matches. At this point all I want is my money back. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a company, I started as a willing, enthusiastic client. Now I feel violated and I want to put this behind me but I can't stop fighting. I don't want to get a consumer lawyer, and I don't want to publicize this though I'm being encouraged to. I just want a full refund and I will happily stay single. This has been awful.
