My free membership experience
I looked into IJL years ago, went through the interview process, but decided not to sign the contract based on the number of 1 star horror reviews and the class action lawsuit that was still pending at that time. Recently, they asked me to join for FREE. Technically I'm not a client, but I signed a contract with them they schedule me for dates with paying clients. If that doesn't scare you about this company, then I can't help you. The catch I realized was it was a blind date for me. My concern was the client didn't know I was on a blind date. I feel this was misleading to their paying clients. They also requested that I not volunteer I was a free client. They set me up on two dates within a week and wanted to set me up for a third, to which I was initially surprised. My first date was with a very nice lady and we had a good conversation. However, she was severely disabled with paralysis on one side of her body, something IJL thought I didn't need to know about beforehand. I'm very active and this was clearly not a viable match for my lifestyle. All I could think about was how IJL set her up on a date under the pretense that I was also a paying client, I had seen her picture, I had been informed about her disability, and I still wanted to meet her. It became obvious to me they are using blind date "free clients" to fill their date quotas with paying clients in an unconscionable manner. I don't want to be a part of that, so I canceled the other dates and am not accepting anymore dates. Run away from this company.
