I ordered a storage unit over the phone on a Tues and said I didn't need it until Friday. I never received a confirmation email that they had processed my request. The next day my plans had changed and I called to cancel the storage unit. I was directed to a VM and never received a return call. Then I found they processed my CC for the full amount of a 2 month rental. I called again and again was directed to a VM with no response to my message. I have now file a dispute with my CC company.

My family and I were homeless for two years. We lost our home and many of belongings were left behind. I trusted Istorage. I began with three 10 x 10 units, then consolidated down to 2 and later 1. Our mattresses, box springs etc were thrown out as they were molded and mice had gotten into them. Many of our belongings were damaged due to dampness. After two years we finally found a place to live . I contacted Istorage that I would be emptying the unit and not renewing. When I arrived my lock was gone and only an Istorage lock was on my unit. Dave , your rep, had to cut it off. After emptying my unit and during the course of unpacking I realized things were missing. We lost a television set, my surveillance cameras with DVR and monitor, my microwave, various tools, etc,. I will never recommend or trust your company again. Whoever cut my lock off and left yours on helped themselves to my belongings. What a disgraceful thing to do to a family who had already lost everything

We reserved a unit for our boat and were given a promotion of two free months with a specific move in date. When we went to store the boat, we were told that the promotion had expired and they would not honor the promotion we were initially offered even though we have email confirmations of our reservation and promotion that do not specify any type of expiration dates.

A letter has been forwarded to Corporate, and the Manager of the Storage Facility I was dealing with.

I had 3 10x20 storage units at the Deere Rd location. I was shocked to see a 30% increase in the rate. Further the rate increase was given with to me without the required 30 day notice. When questioned I was told there was a 5 day grace period so the 25 day notice was acceptable. As I proceeded to move out I was charged a whole month for using that same grace period. Complaining to the local manager resulted in absolutely nothing. If this is how iStorage operates then I cannot recommend any of their facilities.

Within first 30 days unit leaked ruining clothes I had stored. Instead of executing a insurance claim, manager "comped" me a month and I moved units. Months later, I decided to move out. Told new manager I was going to move out and asked what I needed to do. SHe said just move out, we check the units and when we see no lock is on the unit we will know you moved out. I decided a couple of months later to rent a small unit. Office told me I had been overlocked and money was due. I informed them I had moved out and gave them the date and also informed them that they had overlocked an empty unit. They then rented me a smaller unit. Within 30 days I received a certified letter that said I owed over $300 and that my storage contents would be auctioned. I went immediately to the location and informed them once again that the unit they were talking about a unit that is EMPTY. Clerk was very short saying that everything was taken care of and that I wasn't even in the system anymore. I said I AM in your system She said NO YOU Aren't. I said I better be because I have rented and PAID for a small unit! Then she apologized and said oh yes you are in for the smaller unit. (Never apologized for me receiving the certified letter.) I'm just waiting now for whatever happens next!

24 hour SECURED location? Really the security gate has been broken for weeks! The rental truck is HORRIBLE..... Broken passenger side door, dirty inside, broken ramp & a broken dolly! JACKPOT!! A perfect 4/4 of bad!

All seemed fine until they decided to raise the rent with no notice and online payments weren't working and problems with their web site. When we finally got all that figured out, we had major problems when we tried to go to a smaller unit. No one seemed to know how to apply the payment/credit correctly. The main office kept blaming the local office who was doing his best with what little communication he was getting from the main office. Robert was helpful in us switching units though all was made more difficult for him when the main office didn't communicate with him or return my phone calls. I paid my bill early every month. When it wasn't applied correctly by the main office, I was told they had fixed it. Next I'm locked out of the gate. I'm told all is fixed and I then get a delinquency notice. Again they say fixed and I get an Eviction Notice. Main office never did return any phone calls though each time they said they would. Not good business. The only plus here is that Robert at the local office was always friendly and really tried to make everything right.
