Sage promised us they could do all…6 montsh later nothing!
Sage promised us they could do all sorts of things for our company but Months in we have nothing to show for our investment. The employees menat to onboard us kept switching and were poorly trained so they had no idea what sage can do, training took months and 6 months later we still have no idea how to use their system. They or course won't agree to refund or extend our contract for the months of incompetency on their end. Which is fine since we likely would not want to renew. Nothing works, no clarity. Assuming many of the 5 star reviews are fake.

I've been a customer since April 2000
I've been a customer since April 2000. No longer. They constantly raise the price of the software from when I first joined and I'm constantly having to reach out to support (which can take quite a while to get in contact with by they way). The support staff is operating on varying levels of knowledge and speed, but that's besides the point. The software hasn't been working since MAY 15th. That is 6 weeks ago. I reached out for a resolution and had to jump through a bunch of red tape. Two weeks ago I was told they FINALLY got some magic kind developer that apparently has a load of gate keepers and it's still not fixed. It doesn't sync correctly with Amazon. Your inventory levels are never correct. After Amazon receives a shipment IP says they variants are out of stock until Amazon checks them into their next warehouses. So when I go to make another order with my supplier I have to go one by one into Amazon to verify the stock. On top of that, they're showing WAY more stock than is available on other items. So for an owner who orders once or twice a month, and has a 30-40 window to receive the items into Amazon after ordering, needless to stay I'm constantly out of stock and am getting hit with low-inventory fees from Amazon. There are better products like Sellerboard available who will do what IP does and WAY moroe for 1/3 of the price. Avoid!

Hi Adam, thank you for the detailed feedback, and I'm sorry for the frustration this has caused — six weeks of inventory sync issues is not the experience we want you to have, especially with the real financial impact of Amazon's low-inventory fees.
We also hear you on the support experience — getting a clear answer shouldn't have taken this long, and that's feedback we're taking to heart as we work to do better.
To clarify what's been happening with the sync issue: Amazon recently made an unannounced change that affected how Inventory Planner accounts for FC (fulfillment center) transfers, which is causing the stock discrepancies you're seeing. Our team has identified the issue, and a fix has been escalated and is scheduled for release.

Stuck Paying for a Product We Can’t Use
We’ve been with Inventory Planner since before Sage acquired them—back when the platform was lean, reliable, and backed by great customer support. After the acquisition, our subscription cost was increased threefold.
In early 2025, after renewing our annual subscription, we transitioned to a 3PL that Inventory Planner had no integration with. Despite reaching out promptly to explain the situation and explore solutions, support offered nothing viable. As a result, we could no longer use the software.
We requested a refund for the remainder of the contract, but they refused. We’re now stuck having paid for eight months of a product we can’t use.
Support acknowledged the issue but hid behind policy instead of making any good-faith effort to help. If your business values fairness, transparency, and customer service, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Hi there Brett,
Thanks for sharing your experience—I'm sorry to hear things haven’t gone as hoped. We understand how disruptive a platform change can be, especially when it affects your ability to use Inventory Planner as intended.
When your team transitioned to a non-native connection, our support team outlined several options, including a referral to a trusted partner who builds custom integrations and our Early Access ACSV feature. ACSV (Advanced CSV) allows you to connect Inventory Planner to virtually any tech stack, even if we don’t have a native integration—by syncing your data through a flexible, customizable file format. Although your business was not interested in these suggested solutions, we believe ACSV continues to present a promising option moving ahead.
We do our best to be transparent about what’s possible and what’s covered under our terms—and while we weren’t able to offer a refund, we’re still here to support you in making the most of your subscription.
Please feel free to reach out to your Account Manager if you'd like to reconnect.
Best regards,
Ade

We have been unable to use the tool for…
We have been unable to use the tool for item forecasting, open-to-buy, or order generation for below reasons. We reached out to the team several times with questions/issues and was referred to other members or forwarded lengthy self-training materials instead of answers to simple questions. The Team also attended the IP Product Roadmap meeting and did not see solutions to these issues.
Unable to generate accurate forecasts that take into account lifecycle and seasonality of our product. When set to last sales, which was originally recommended by the IP team, it did not account for Swim drop off in fall/winter and dramatically over forecasted sales and reorders. The other two methods have not produced better results. Forecasting at category level continues to be overridden in the system.
Unable to plan Net vs Gross sales, return rate, or discount rate
Cannot see critical metrics by week/month to create manual plans such as % to LY, build, discount rate, AUR, AIR.
No visibility to how it's generating the forecast and need for proper validation.
Unable to group or view by key attributes such as hit cut, bra top, etc. or export a list of skus and each attribute column (length, cup, size, etc.)
POs and receiving are not integrated with IP and currently our ops team is manually entering POs into multiple systems to keep it updated, which causes no real time visibility to total available inventory as we place orders.
The interface is generally inefficient and difficult to navigate. Simple updates create a lag when attempting to save changes.
This tool does not give us the information we need to run the business or make good decisions.
I have emails from their team saying these options are not available. Their team continually says they are there for us with additional training. What good does training do if the functions needed to conduct stellar business practices do not exist?
Our CEO requested multiple times to cancel our subscription, and we were repeatedly denied.

Hi Sally,
Thank you for providing such detailed feedback. While we understand the challenges you’ve encountered, we want to acknowledge the effort put into training your designated team members and providing the tools necessary to address these issues. We value your openness and the opportunity to address these concerns.
From our perspective, we trained the users your team identified for onboarding and did recommend including additional team members for a more comprehensive rollout. While further training for users not initially included does have an associated fee, we also offer extensive on-demand training videos on our YouTube channel, free of charge, as an alternative for those who want to deepen their understanding at zero cost.
We’re sorry to hear Inventory Planner has not yet met your expectations. Our Support team is here to assist with specific questions, and we are committed to finding solutions that help you get the most out of the platform. Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly so we can explore ways to address your immediate needs and work toward a mutually beneficial resolution.
Thank you again for your feedback—we’re here to help.

Major regret
This ended up being too much work for my team to manage and customer support wasn’t great. No longer using it and they won’t let us out of our year contract. Huge regret

Hi Leila,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that Inventory Planner didn’t meet your expectations and that it was difficult for your team to manage. We aim to provide strong support and regret that you feel we fell short in your case.
We provide onboarding for the team members identified during setup and offer free, on-demand training videos on our YouTube channel for additional learning. Transitioning to new systems can sometimes be a challenge, and our Support team is always available to help with specific questions or concerns.
Regarding the contract, we strive to be transparent about terms during sign-up. We’d be happy to discuss options to address your concerns. Please feel free to reach out so we can work toward a solution that better fits your needs.

Disappointing treatment
It is with a heavy heart that I am giving Inventory Planner a 1-star review.
We have been using Inventory Planner for over 4 years now and in that time we enjoyed all of the great features it had to offer. There is a lot of data to play with, and we finally set it up just the way we wanted.
Unfortunately, when our team inquired about negotiating a yearly contract (as opposed to the monthly payments we had set up through Shopify), we were shocked to be hit with a proposal over twice the price of our current subscription. As a loyal customer, this was the last thing we expected.
Once we realised we had been caught in a trap, it was too late. We discovered other reviews from customers that had experienced the same thing. If only we had seen these sooner.
If you are a new customer, and you are agree to the new pricing model, there shouldn't be any issues. But if you are a current customer and looking to review your pricing, please take note of what happened to us and avoid it at all costs!

10 months later, still not able to use the tool.
I left a one star review back in May about the onboarding experience being terrible. That triggered an initial response where they threw some more resource at it, giving us some hope. But 6 months later we are still not using the tool and everyone has lost interest in getting us working. They have outsourced the integration to an incompetent third party so have no control or knowledge of what is going on. They should never have promised us they could make it work.

Hi there,
Thank you for your follow-up review.
I do understand your frustrations and while I can say with no hesitation that your experience is not typical of our customers who onboard with us, nor did we sell you use our platform with anything other than the best of intentions, I fully appreciate that this doesn't help you where are currently.
I'm aware that you have a regular dialogue with our implementation team who are working closely with yourselves and one of our integration partners. I've also spoken to one of our Implementation Leaders who will be calling you tomorrow to echo these thoughts in more depth.
Apologies once more. We will get there.

Very hard to cancel subscription
The only way to cancel your subscription is to contact support. They will then ask you to answer a list of detailed questions before proceeding with your cancellation request. We continued to be charged even after requesting the cancellation of our account. Very disappointing for an online business.
Response from Inventory Planner by SageJul 28, 2023
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your feedback. Firstly, I'm sorry that you are looking to cancel your subscription with Inventory Planner.
We always try to see if we can lend extra support to our customers in this situation so they can make use of the efficiencies that other customers gain from Inventory Planner. It's with this in mind that our support agents ask a few questions to see if it's something we can help with such diagnosing setup issues.
I hope this explains our rationale. If you're are leaving us for pastures new, I wish you every success for your business.
