Instant Car Fix is a privately held company based in the DMV area. The company provides mobile car repair and maintenance services to car owners at their location (home or office or any other location of choice). The company currently operates in DC, MD and VA and is rapidly expanding to other cities too.We realized that most auto repair shops and dealerships try to upsell their services and recommend services which are not needed. Most of the times, a simple car service trip turns into an estimate worth thousands of dollars. The cheap upsell tactics consistently instills fear into customer’s mind and most people do not like walking into an auto repair shop.A recent survey by AAA shows some staggering statistics. Two out of three auto drivers do not trust auto repair shops. An incredible 76 percent of those surveyed by AAA said they were recommended to buy unnecessary services.73 percent said they were overcharged, and63 percent said they had negative past experiences.Nearly half (49 percent) said that they were concerned that work won’t be done correctly.Instant Car Fix was created to solve this problem. Our goal is to provide honest quotes with quality service at the convenience of your doorsteps. We made a company you can trust, that never upsells, and believes customers should decide what services they need for their car. Our certified mechanics have years of experience working at dealerships and repair shops.Best part – we come to you! We repair cars at location of your choice so that you don’t have to walk into an auto repair shop ever again. At Instant Car Fix, we MAKE LIFE SIMPLE!

I paid this company $160 to find out what was wrong with my car. I ordered the $180 part they told me ,I needed but that wasn't what was wrong with my car. I trusted this company but all they did was waste my time and money.

Terrible and overpriced service
This was, without exaggeration, the worst customer experience I have ever had. Many companies pride themselves on providing excellent customer service. This level of service is table stakes for a convenience-based business whose entire value proposition is centered on making things easier on customers. I'm willing to pay a little extra for the convenience of not having to take my car to the repair shop, and I knew I was going to pay more than my local mechanic would charge. I was ok with that because I needed my car fixed over the weekend, while my mechanic is closed.
Instant Car Fix's website says: "Your happiness is paramount. We strive to surpass your expectations in every interaction, prioritizing your satisfaction above all else."
Talk is cheap.
I scheduled service for the next day between 10 AM and 2 PM. I provided payment information. I received confirmation of my scheduled window. The confirmation said "The mechanic or a member of Instant Car Fix's team would contact you 30 minutes before the mechanic's arrival time." A reasonable person would expect to hear from the mechanic or the company by around 1:30. I heard nothing. 2:00... Nothing. I finally called at 2:10'and asked for an ETA. I was put on hold, and when the customer service rep took me off hold, the mechanic was also on the line. I don't think I was meant to be taken off hold, because I heard the rep ask for an ETA and heard the mechanic respond "I locked my keys in the god***n car." When I asked for an estimated arrival time, the call was immediately cut off. So I called back. I was given a very short response of 35 minutes. 2:45 came and went, and no communication. Finally he showed up at 3:10, with his dog in the car with him. He apologized because his car "is a piece of s***" (thanks, but that's not my problem). He was supposed to pull the diagnostic code, but forgot his code reader at his house which is a good 45 minutes away. So I was being charged for a diagnostic that wasn't performed.
I got a call at 5:05 from the company saying that the mechanic needed to purchase ignition coils, and I needed to approve the quote. I was told by the rep to just "select any random time and we'll adjust it on the backend. He's coming back to finish tonight after he buys the coils."
"Tonight? He's going to finish tonight?"
"Yes, he'll finish up tonight."
"Sounds good, thanks."
Approved the quote and selected the first available time slot, as instructed, which was Sunday from 10-2.
6:00.
6:30.
7:00.
No return, no communication.
Instant Car Fix did not answer the phone. I reached out via email explaining the situation, to which I received this response:
"You have booked the appointment for 10/11/2026.
Thanks,
Instant Car Fix - Top-Rated Certified Mobile Mechanics"
Well, no. Because I was told to select any time slot and he'd be back tonight.
He left my car unlocked, with the keys in it, in my driveway.
I called on Sunday morning and was told "your service window is between 10 and 2." Explained the whole situation again and was told "I'll reach out to the mechanic for his arrival time and get back to you." I explained that I don't care, this needs to be fixed now. He abandoned the job overnight with no communication from anyone. 45 minutes later still heard nothing. Called again, much more agitated and got the same answer. 45 minutes later still heard nothing.
Called again and was told "he'll be there in about an hour." He finally showed up (with his dog), finished the job, and left the keys in the unlocked car, and used spark plugs and ignition coils on the front seat of the car. He said nothing to anyone that he was finished, he just left.
Every communication was initiated by me, except the one where they told me they were going to need to charge more money. It's easy to talk about customer satisfaction and customer service, it's another thing to actually provide it. Start to finish, this was a terrible experience and a service I will never use again, and one which I would actively discourage others from using. I believe there is a market for this kind of mobile on-demand mechanic service for providers who can deliver a quality experience. Fortunately for any would-be competitors in this market, Instant Car Fix has set an exceptionally low bar.

Buyers beware!!
I had scheduled and paid for rotors and brakes for both axels and an oil change since they were going to be there anyway. I had the service scheduled for 9/5 because of a busy labor day weekend that I had planned. Service window was between 11a-4p. Dude never showed up and and I didn't even find out he wasn't going to show up until 7:30p. Service was rescheduled for the next day, service window was 11a-3p. At 3:30p I was on the phone again only to find out he was sitting in my spare parking space with his scooby doo van (never called 30 mins before). Then I got to meet the tweakers Instant Car Fix sent. Yes, there was two tweaker because he brought his GF with. 9pm rolls around and he has to leave because he had to bring his tweaker gf back home but promised to return that night. Never came back. Then he shows up at 10am on Labor day to finish the front axel and oil change. Welp, he ended up stripping out some mounting threads so he had to go get a helicoil from the store. Now my car is up on jacks and he was gone for 3 hours. He then returned with his tweaker partner and didn't finish the front axel until 9pm and I told him it was too late for the oil change ($55 for labor and $30 for disposal). Remember his scooby doo van? well, it leaked about a quart of oil on my extra parking spot. I told him to clean that up which he agreed to but never did.
Then there was the matter of customer service/support. They were extremely rude and couldn't be bothered. I called multiple times and sent three emails about getting my $85 back. Totally ghosted me. A month later I disputed the charge and now they can deal with my CC company. Zero out of 5 stars, would NOT recommend. An entire labor day weekend gone.
