I don't want to communicate with InkFounders again.
Communication has been unprofessional, inconsistent, not proofread, and uninformative. Payment required up front, was made Thursday, Franklin was supposed to call me Thursday and Friday - I called him Thursday, and then there was no communication until Monday, when Franklin said he was going to send me a form. It never arrived. Repeated timeline questions have been ignored. Today (Tuesday) I received the form, which contained another author's information. I have no confidence that my proofreading job will be done adequately. I will update my review if necessary. Update 9/24/2026: I told Franklin this afternoon that I have hired another editor, was done with Inkfounders and did not wish to speak to them again. I have just received a very high pressure call from Anna, who wanted to discuss why I had discontinued their services. I addressed her to my written communications with Franklin and said I was done. She offered free publishing, free book cover design, any free service I want if I will just give them a chance. I explained AGAIN that I have hired another editor and do not wish to speak to InkFounders again. I have now received a THIRD phone call, this time saying my payment was being refunded and asking me to remove this review. I am upgrading my review to two stars because the final caller was so apologetic and adamant that the problem is being handled. This phone call was followed by a text. I appreciate the refund, which I did not request or expect (and as of 10/1/26, have not received). However, I would PROCEED WITH CAUTION if you are considering hiring this company. I've never fired an editor before; I didn't think it would be so difficult.
