As a slightly more 'mature' head transitioning from assistant directing / directing into script development this course was great for focusing the mind on script as a product going to market rather than a production blueprint. Having studied the craft of screenplay for my own writing and having been a script reader for writers before, the course reaffirmed a lot of what I 'thought' was good practice as well as providing the necessary steering to more study and work experience in my quest for paid work in this field. The pre and post-course script reading assignments, along with the course material provided, make this a bonafide, applied learning experience, these guys are pros. RECOMMEND :)

As a recent newcomer to the script reading industry, I found this course very informative and useful. It is an intense day but made worth while by the amount of fantastic information taught in a structured and friendly manner. The course documents received on the day are very constructive, and have proved very helpful after the course too. If you are wanting to get into the script reading business, or if you are a screenwriter, I definitely recommend this course as it gives a very clear view of what executives are looking for.

As a screenwriter looking to work in development, I found this course incredibly useful and informative, learning not only how to professionally analyse other peoples' scripts, but also how to analyse and develop my own work. The class size was small and intimate, allowing for lots of contribution and discussion. The materials we were given were very beneficial and came in handy when writing my own script report for the assignment. Having done some script reading previously, I can instantly see the improvement in my reports after doing this course. One thing I would add is that the Contact Sheet could perhaps be updated as it was pointed out that some of the companies have since closed or changed their name.

The Script Reading Course was worth the time and money spent. It was good to come into contact with a professional who knows the market place and knows what is required. The information provided before during and after the course was of a high standard and will no doubt be of use to me in the future. The best thing about the course in my opinion was the post course assignment. Being able to 'sit in the seat' of a reader and write a coverage report provided great insight and will be extremely beneficial as I pursue my career as a writer.

Good stuff! Intense but also very informative and helpful; you really do hear everything you need to know, and this is coming from a complete amateur to the world of film industry. Would maybe have liked to discuss a little more the script we were assigned to read and also hear the tutor's personal opinion of it, but otherwise - great!

Excellent course. Ample supply of high-quality course materials provided. Wide range of topics discussed, from analytical aspects of reading screenplays, to commercial issues in film production, to personal career management. Tutor had a good balance of taking charge and allowing contributions. Would definitely recommend for those with a serious interest in the screenwriting.

Good course, well run, great contact sheet that will be very useful. The course itself is quite heavy on the basics of script structure which is useful if you're a beginner screenwriter / reader, but not so essential if you're well versed and well coursed! I would have liked more script reports to review and learn from but that's just me. Venue needs changing. Current room is overcrowded and noisy which meant I had to strain to hear a lot of great gems I might otherwise have missed.

I'm an aspiring screenwriter, but I took this course because I'm also very interested in working in the development side of film and TV. I wanted to learn more about how script reading works and how I could find paid jobs in that area, and on that front the course was fantastic. We were given step-by-step guides on who to approach and how to approach them and I now feel a lot more confident about pursuing this line of work. An added benefit was the thorough insight into how development execs analyse scripts on a commercial and technical level, something that was very useful to me as a screenwriter. It's also worth mentioning that it was the first time our tutor had taught this course, but we would have never known if he hadn't told us. The day was engaging and interesting throughout. If you want to be a script reader, you need to take this course.
