About Image Tours

Roelof Postmaa, Sr., an educator in The Netherlands, founded Image Tours in 1939 in Amsterdam. He began taking his students and their parents on trips as a hobby. Recognizing people’s need for guidance in planning their travels, Mr. Postmaa developed a successful business hosting tours throughout Europe. He firmly believed that travel broadens one’s horizon and enriches one’s mind.Mr. Postmaa’s son, Roelof Jr., began assisting his father in the family business while still in high school. Roelof Jr. opened an office in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1960 and began offering the company’s signature HEART OF EUROPE ® tour to groups such as fraternal organizations, employee associations, churches, school choirs, orchestras, and marching bands.In 1986, the company began partnering with travel agencies to offer their escorted Europe tours to the general public, thereby becoming firmly established throughout the United States. Today, Image Tours is led by Monique Kasmauskis, the daughter of Roelof Jr., and her husband, Mike. They, along with all the Image Tours associates, are dedicated to providing Superior Value with a Personal Touch. Thanks to this dedication, Image is often praised by both travelers and travel agents for courteous service, meticulous traveler preparation, and flawless execution of its tours. Our HEART OF EUROPE ® tour has endured since 1960, and has been enjoyed by thousands of first-time travelers to Europe. Went on tour in June 2013
Went on tour in June 2013. At every city were were dropped of and told there is a cafe there, a shop there. No local tours at all. The hotels are miles and miles away from any sights. You cannot catch a tram or metro to a downtown area. One hotel was next to a cow pasture and its smells! What made the trip the worst I've been on are the other travelers. If you travel on a cheap tour, you travel with cheap people. 75% of my fellow travelers had (multiple) beers for breakfast, for mid-morning stop, for lunch, for afternoon stop, for dinner, and all night. If you want to only to drink, stay home and drink and save money. One man was so drunk on my tour during the Paris dinner, he could not figure out how to go to the restroom. He wife said, 'oh, that's just the way he is.' Next time, I'll pay more to travel with non-drunks and actually have tours of the historic sights.

Worst Trip ever
Due to mechanical issues, American was late leaving Miami. I and five other members of the group had coordinated with Image informing them of our late arrival. when we arrived in Milan there was no clue as to what we should do. I finally found an English-speaking traveler who called the hotel for us, but the process took over two hours. Not that the tour guide should have picked us up, but SOMEONE should have made arrangements to pick up the group of six elderly travelers. Upon return, I complained and was referred to the oluminous conract which included language that late arivals would be on theiri onw. I find that entirely unacceptable, and will never use Image again for any travel.

We are very sorry that your trip started with a delayed flight. Indeed sometimes airline flights are delayed, and therefore we make every effort to prevent frustrations by including a full page of arrival instructions in all final documents. The independent transfer instructions, hotel address and contact information and airport directions are provided so delayed passengers are able meet up with their group at the first hotel. In addition to these detailed instructions, we provide all passengers with a 24 hour emergency day of departure toll free phone number so any passenger is able to talk to a live person, who can assist them with any questions regarding the arrival instructions. When arranging our clients included air schedules, we make every effort to include extra connection time on all air itineraries so we can limit, to the best of our ability, these types of situations. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we will use this information in the continuous improvement of our tours.
