I placed a Christmas order on December 12th for more than $200 ordering a couple of food boxes to be delivered to my son in LA on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately the package was not shipped until late on December 23rd and so it missed the deadline. However, the company was very apologetic and because the package contained some perishables, they re-sent those elements at no extra cost.

EDITED REVIEW 8 January 2021. Changing review from 1 to 3 stars. I’m editing this review to reflect the outcome of my igourmet transaction. I placed the order December 13. Igourmet finally SHIPPED my “Christmas” (no, New Years) basket on JANUARY 2nd. It arrived on January 4, 3 days after the recipient’s house was down to 2 inhabitants. As far as I know the basket showed up intact, but if there was a problem with the goods my friends were too polite to tell me. Raising my rating from 1 star to 3 because it’s only fair to say that in the end, after I appealed to igourmet to do the right thing, they refunded my entire order. This doesn’t change the facts set out in my initial review about incompetent holiday delivery. But I was relieved that a human responded to my long email with an immediate refund. It was the right thing to do. Be verrry wary of expecting on-time delivery from igourmet. (Order in November for Xmas.) But their admitting their error is a big step to making me trust them again. ——————— INITIAL REVIEW I wish I’d looked for reviews of igourmet beforehand! I’m a very patient person but absolutely appalled at the nonexistent customer service of igourmet. I made the huge mistake of ordering a $150 igourmet Christmas food basket for friends, using the “express shipping” option, on December 13 2020. It was only after I completed the transaction that I was informed that “express shipping” would take several weeks. Ok, Covid times, shipping can be slow. However, it’s 2 weeks already and not a word from igourmet that the basket has even been assembled, never mind shipped. At this rate it will arrive mid January and the house I sent it to will be almost empty. Oh and you can’t track the order via the website, or any carrier. The company tells you to instead download a tracking app which explains it will have access to your email — no thanks. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, AVOID - do yourself a big favor and avoid igourmet. Choose Harry and David or some reputable company for joyful giving.
