Had an auto loan through them. Paid it off in 3 months, with last payment in April. Insurance was set to renew, and I noticed I still had a lien on my vehicle 3 months later because Huntington did not properly release it. This made me think: I also never received my title after I paid in full. Called customer service: they claimed they mailed title to me already. I asked for tracking. Customer service rep stated that it was mailed standard USPS without any form of tracking/proof it was mailed. She is suggesting it was lost in the mail, and no copy exists. Her advice to me: I now have to take a half day off of work to go to DMV to get a new title. I guess I'm stuck with those fees as well?!?! I will NEVER use this institution for anything ever again. I will be leaving as many complaints as possible so that nobody else has to experience the headache that they have caused me.

I was with TCF bank in Minneapolis for over 40 years with not a single problem. Huntington bought them and it has been HELL for the last few years. Customer service never answers with a human, tells you they will callback and an hour later when they call they tell you to call another number. They messaged me to call in the first place, but they had no idea why they asked me to call! I’ve had to change account numbers, access codes constantly. They took my full service bank and turned it into an office with 4 employees who can’t help you with anything. I can’t find a full service anywhere! I’ve had it. Get out while you still have your sanity! I’m looking for a small credit union staffed by people!

I am a private banking client with Huntington, enrolled in their top-tier banking program. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been deeply disappointing and put me in a very difficult position. For a recent business acquisition, the Huntington team actively pursued my business, strongly encouraging me to proceed with them for the loan. Regrettably, I trusted them and decided to move forward with the process. It quickly became apparent that they were unprepared and lacked the necessary expertise. Communication was virtually nonexistent—calls went unanswered, and emails received no response. As a business owner operating on tight timelines, this was not only frustrating but also alarming. I was ultimately left with no choice but to return to my previous bank, who stepped in and successfully handled everything within a week.

I've had so many problems with my checking account and credit card, it's just not worth it anymore. I was locked out of my checking account, went into the bank, and the very nice man who helped me could not explain what happened. He had to cancel my account and start completely over. Today they declined an $80 charge for no reason whatsoever. Called customer service which first disconnected me after 7 minutes and upon my second call I got a message that said it's an hour wait time. So dear Huntington bank, I am just canceling my accounts and going somewhere else. Thanks anyway

had a very disappointing experience with Huntington Bank. Without my consent or any clear explanation, they closed my account and placed my funds on hold. This left me without access to my own money, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience. What’s worse is that I’m not the only one — I personally know several other people who have gone through the same issue with this bank. This shows a troubling pattern of poor customer service and account handling. Because of this, I will not be opening another account with Huntington Bank and cannot recommend them to others. Customers deserve transparency, timely communication, and access to their funds — none of which I experienced here.

I can't give a lower rating or I would! I have a joint account with my Great Niece. She's in the military and I manage her finances. I initiated a bank to bank transfer and BAM! lost access to the account. I used the 2 step verification &verified the 2 withdrawls to authenticate the account. They shut down my on-line access!! I must take a cancelled check and photo ID to a branch. If a branch was close....I wouldn't NEED to use on-line banking. Why bother with all the on-line authentication if I have to go into a branch? Why didn't they divulge this info when we opened the account?

Awful customer service department! When I contacted the department to report unauthorized withdrawals from my checking account and requested assistance in stopping them, I was informed that nothing could be done for 45 days. I expressed my concern about further unauthorized withdrawals, but the representative showed no empathy and simply reiterated the 45-day waiting period. This response was unacceptable given the urgency and seriousness of the situation! Given the large number of complaints here and other places, you would assume Huntington would respond to their customer base about addressing this problem!

Over 30 years ago, a young couple living near a Huntington bank in Ohio opened an account. Fast forward to 2025, the couple has lived out of Ohio for over 11 years, maintaining both checking and savings accounts (joint) with Huntington through online banking. One spouse died. I was instructed to fly to the nearest branch out of state with the proper papers and ID to update the account. Maybe it's just me, but does this seem strange? After several calls to customer service, who could not help, and waiting for over 40 minutes on hold, I was told to contact their headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, and "maybe" they would have a way to handle this. It's incomprehensible that they don't even know in 2025 what the proper course of action is for the death of a joint account holder other than coming into a branch. We live across the US from Ohio, and I am a senior and a new widow trying to handle all this. At this point, I am beyond angry. It seems there's no customer loyalty on their part. It is a shame that they make this difficult at a time of grief. If I could rate them -100, I would.
