Hi Lisa, Giovanni here, I lead Customer Success at Hunter. I've processed a full refund for you today and I'm sorry the experience landed where it did. For anyone reading: across this case our team wanted to help building a cleaned version of the file for the user as her original file didn't provide many results (92 emails from 366 rows). Upon investigation we noticed the gap came from the input list itself: built with an AI tool, it contained rows with partial first or last names, job titles like "Dr." placed in the name field, firm names where people's names should have been, and several entries with no verifiable online presence. For rows like these, no email finder will return results. Our team offered Lisa two ways forward at no extra cost: - A Bulk Domain Search on the firm rows: the same domains returned 400+ emails when we tested it. - A clean-and-rerun of the people rows with formatting corrected and domains added. Lisa chose to dispute the charge and post this review before we could run that work, so we issued a full refund and closed the account. We're sorry it ended here, the same data quality issues would produce similar results with any other provider, so we genuinely wanted to help get to a usable list. - Giovanni, Head of Customer Success, Hunter

Steve, this is Giovanni from Hunter. A few things for context, since this review doesn't match the conversation we had in support. You cancelled your Starter plan in March 2026, which we processed immediately. You reached out about a refund two months later, for a billing cycle that had already closed. Hunter is cancellable at any time, from the subscription page or by contacting us, and we offer a free plan with no time limit: which is what your account is on now. We don't refund closed cycles retroactively, but we understood that your cancellation had a delay on your end and offered a goodwill gesture. What's worth noting is that the picture you describe here is different from the one you described to us directly. In your own words to our support team: "The tool worked as expected on that front." "The challenge was more on our side. Email outreach didn't perform as effectively as we had hoped." In your review, you wrote that the tool "only reliably worked about two or three times out of five." Those two accounts can't both be true. When you first reached out, we took your framing at face value and offered to review your outreach strategy at no cost (since you mentioned it was a problem for you), plus a free month of Starter if you wanted to test again. You declined both. That's your call, but it doesn't make the tool the problem. On the point about AI: it wasn't used in our replies. Our team responds quickly because that's how we work (we have SLAs to meet) and we constantly monitor our support quality to ensure we provide the best possible experience.
