I used to like house called pro.A lot, but all they do is change stuff all the time, just to make their software, people relevant. It's so annoying. If I wasn't so committed, I would change. And I might, I just gotta figure out how. I'm just a hands on working fool. I don't do software.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We understand that frequent changes can be frustrating, especially when you're focused on running your business—not learning new software. While updates are a part of improving the platform, and we'd really like the opportunity to help. We weren't able to locate your account using the name on this review, so if you could email us at [[email protected]] with your login email and a good phone number, we'd be happy to reach out, better understand your experience, and see how we can help make things easier.

Use Jobber or a better CRM
Many of the services they provide are excellent, calendar, scheduling, customer communication, retention, all things CRM. It's when they started offering accounting and bookkeeping that things went downhill. No one seems to know what's going on over there and service is terrible. Lastly, I cancelled service last June but with a $15 retention fee to keep the account but not use it. I've been getting charged $40 for accounting and $189 for the last year which I just discovered (definitely my bad on that but it was an account that I was no longer using so I never checked it). When I contacted them they said they would open a ticket and get back to me. They never did so now I'm disputing it with my bank.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for recognizing the value you've found in Housecall Pro's CRM tools, including scheduling, customer communication, and retention features.
We're sorry to hear about your experience with Accounting and the frustration surrounding your billing concerns. After reviewing your account history, we can see that while there were discussions in June 2025 regarding closing your business, you ultimately chose to keep your Housecall Pro account active. We also see that an Accounting retention arrangement was put in place at that time.
To clarify, the Accounting retention fee was specific to that service and did not replace or pause the billing for an active Housecall Pro subscription. We understand how confusion around account status and billing expectations can be frustrating, particularly if the account is no longer being actively used.
We're also sorry to hear that you felt your concerns were not adequately addressed after reaching out for support. While we're unable to discuss account-specific details publicly, we want to ensure your questions receive a thorough review.
Please contact us directly at [email protected]. We'd welcome the opportunity to review your account history with you and provide additional clarity regarding the charges and support interactions you've referenced.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Cost is way too high
Cost is way too high. Customer service stinks. Canceled years ago and still get emails periodically. I have unsubscribed and messages them often. Still no solution. This company is all about making money and nothing else

Hello Craig, Thanks for giving Housecall Pro a try and for taking the time to share your experience — we hear your frustration, and your feedback is noted.
If you’re still receiving marketing emails after unsubscribing, we want to get that properly taken care of. Please email [email protected] with the email address that’s receiving them, and our team will make sure it’s removed from future outreach.

Truly one of the worst programs i have ever used. Multiple times I have messaged within the program via online and called the customer support number. I DO THIS EVERYTIME Because both give me different feedback. DONT BOTHER MESSAGING they will only send you articles and dont help worth a lick.. I have had the same issues multiple times or new ones arise and its never their fault. I have even sent screenshots asking and it was clear my cache... ( hun i did) thats why i am messaging you.

Hi Lindsay, we’re really sorry to hear how frustrating this experience has been for you. We understand how important it is to receive clear and consistent support.
Our goal is always to provide helpful guidance and resolve issues as quickly as possible. Part of that process involves working through troubleshooting steps to rule out potential causes before escalating, and we understand that this can sometimes feel repetitive.
We’d appreciate the opportunity to connect directly and better understand what’s been happening so we can provide the right support moving forward.
We’ve attempted to reach you by phone and would love to speak with you. When you have a moment, please reach out to us at [email protected]
or respond to one of our messages so we can assist further.

We have tried using this software for a few years now. I would not recommend them to anyone! No support unless you want to speak with AI. Our state is now requiring certain verbiage on estimates - they cannot assist but other changes happen frequently with no regard to advising customers prior to the changes. No support that can ever assist. No way to download images that are field uploaded to their software.

Hi Deborah, I'm Teria with the Pro Advocate Team here. Thank you so much for your feedback! We're sorry to hear that you haven't been supported. We do use AI to help you get the fastest resolution or response when you open a new chat, but if you'd prefer a representative, you can stay in the chat until the next one is available.
Abrupt changes can be frustrating for sure, and we have several ways for you to add mandatory or legal verbiage to estimates and invoices using several built-in Housecall Pro features. These options range from the global company settings to job-specific documentation.
1. Default Terms and Conditions
For long-form legal text, disclaimers, or mandatory state-required language, use the Terms and Conditions section in your Company Profile.
*Where to add: Go to Settings > Company > Profile and edit the Terms and Conditions section.
**How it appears: This text shows up as a clickable link on all electronic documents sent to customers.
2. Default Messaging on Documents
If you want specific verbiage to appear directly at the bottom of every estimate or invoice (rather than as a link), use the Default Message setting.
*Where to add: Navigate to Settings > Company > Profile and edit the Message on invoice, receipt, and estimate.
**Best for: Short, mandatory disclosures or "thank you" messages that must be visible on the document itself.
3. Checklist Templates for Compliance
For state-specific requirements that may vary by job type or require verification, Checklist Templates are an effective tool.
*Mandatory items: You can create checklists where specific items are marked as Required, ensuring they are completed before a job is finished.
**Visibility: These checklists can be attached to invoices so customers see the completed compliance steps or mandatory information.
***Where to add: Go to Settings > Checklists to build reusable templates for your team.
4. Customizing Individual Documents
If verbiage needs to be adjusted for a specific customer or job:
*Individual Invoice Settings: In the invoice preview, you can edit the Job and Invoice details or the Summary of Work to include project-specific mandatory language.
**Line Item Descriptions: You can add specific text or disclosures directly within the Description field of individual service or material line items.

We've been using HCP for 4-5 years now. There's a lot of things I like about it but the one thing I absolutely can't stand is when using their CC processing, if a customer files a dispute, you are almost guarunteed to lose that money. They do not stick up for you at all. You are given limited opportunity to defend yourself and it seems as though it doesn't matter. We provided services to customers, that they don't deny we provided or they authorized, but for whatever reason afterwards disputed the charge. Our services were provided exactly as stated, everything done correctly, had authorization prior to performing work, and showed proof of everything- still the dispute was honored. This has happened about three times now and it absolutely sickens me to know that they allow customers to steal from us like that. By their standards, I should be able to dispute my monthly fees from HCP and get them back, right? Yes, there is a lot of good in this program and I will tell people that but I will ALWAYS include this information as well. I would have second thought doing business with them had I known how little they actually supported us when it mattered.

Hi Jill,
Thank you for being a loyal partner for the past 5 years. I am truly sorry to hear about these experiences; there is nothing more frustrating than performing quality work, having the documentation to prove it, and still feeling like the rug has been pulled out from under you.
To be completely transparent, while Housecall Pro facilitates the dispute response, the final decision is made by the customer’s issuing bank—not our team. We know how "one-sided" the banking system can feel for service providers, and it’s a pain point we take very seriously.
I also want to let you know that I see the chat from yesterday where you submitted your evidence to our payments team. We are currently ensuring that all your documentation is presented as strongly as possible to the bank for their review. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we receive word on their decision.

We are using Housecall pro for 2 years now. It was a great program until someone decided to change it (for the worst).
There was a dashboard button that make it very user friendly to see the report of who owe you money.
I have no idea why they removed it but since they made the change, this is not a user friendly program, anymore.
Response from Housecall ProMar 13, 2026
Hi Avi,
Thank you for being with us for two years. We’re sorry the recent update disrupted your workflow—we know how vital that "who owes you money" view is to your business.
While the dashboard looks different, you can find your outstanding balances instantly by clicking the Reporting tab and selecting Receivables. You can also filter your Invoices list by “Unpaid” for a quick snapshot.
We value your feedback and are committed to making the app user-friendly for you again. If you need help pinning this report to your main view, please message us through the Blue Chat Bubble in your account!
Best,
The Housecall Pro Team
