Deception
Live in Canada, went to website of a Canadian hotel. Booked reservation and did not read the fine print on the checkout page. Received confirmation email from reservations.com with the rate in USD. After returning home, discovered USD14.99 "booking fee" on my credit card statement. Called reservations.com and told that booking fee is on the checkout page and could not be refunded, even though no mention of booking fee USD14.99 on the confirmation email. First, deception in disguising as hotel website, Second, deception in fine print booking fee. I shall hotel direct in future. Booking online is a minefield of EXTRA and HIDDEN charges. Hope this helps others avoid the extra costs/frustration I experienced.
