I bought a home and it was still getting painted. I happen to find two nice ShadowBox pictures at Home Goods. I put them up a few weeks later. I went to the store and came back. One had fallen off the wall and broke, glass everywhere. Also damaged my floor. I looked at the back of it because I thought it was something I done but the picture itself where the company put the brackets on to hang it broke. Not the bracket but the plastic on the picture it was put on. I called the store on Germantown and the manager was very rude and would not talk on the phone. She was relaying messages to an employee to tell me. That was very unprofessional. Do not buy those pictures. They are very heavy and the frame is cheap. I still like the store but I think I will shop more at At Home. I'm not gone be treated rudely afternI spent $200 on merchandise. Now I'm looking into my floor it has put a big gash in.

I put HomeGoods less than average
I put HomeGoods less than average. When they have good items, they're great and the prices are fabulous. However, many times, they are broken, chipped, breaking, ripping, shredding, and with flaws, which is why they find their way to the store. If you manage to luck out, you will love it. Many times, I find the quality of the merchandise control lacking. Many times it also looks like a herd of elephants went through the store as it is disastrous with things in the wrong places, precariously placed. The best thing about it is that I can always find pet necessities and usually kitchen needs. The worst thing is their price stickers. I understand the need for theft deterrence but the things don't come off. On top of that, they put them smack in the middle of exactly where you don't want them. Example - Harry & David gift baskets. Why can't you put them on the labels where you can cut them off easily? Or on the bottom of the basket? Why put then right on the front of the plastic wrap so that it looks horrible when you want to holiday gift? It's terrible. I can't get them off products and I have a slew of HomeGoods merchandise with left over sticky white tags. It's a nuisance and I admit, the main reason I stopped going there for a while. I'd rather pay a sales price or even full price to have a nice, sticker free product in my home or as a gift. It's such a small detail and the biggest preventative for a purchase in my book.
The other horrible thing is how bad some of the furniture and kitchenware are. There are cracks, chips, breakage and for the furniture, you can have a table on 3 legs, broken handle/knob, scratches along the top or side and they will still try to charge you a high price for them. It's outrageous. The pottery is on glass shelves, shoved in every which corner they can find, with no rhyme or reason and again, chips, scratches and it's still sitting there hoping to get bought. It's definitely a bargain basement type of feel, unfortunately.

Lied to about credit card
Went to Home Goods today (Conyers, GA), and upon check-out, the cashier, El-Amin, asked if I wanted a rewards card. I asked if it was a credit card because I did not want a hit on my credit and she kept stressing that it was a rewards card that could be used in 3 stores. After taking my information, she said it was a credit card and to just cut it up when I got it. I’m about to make a major purchase and did not need a hit. I’m still PISSED! This company need to properly train employees and if they don’t comply, fire their asses. It’s a crazy world and messing with people’s credit may get you hurt.

The store is a good one
The store is a good one, with good and affordable items but the website is horrible . There is no navigation there .

Very Disappointed Customer
I purchased nightstands online at Home Goods for a furnished rental property. I paid extra for rush shipping. Both times the items arrived damaged. I would have purchased the items in store, but there weren't two night stands that matched so I had to purchase them online. I contacted customer service and explained that I was on a tight timeline to furnish the property and needed to have nightstands for our guests, which is why I paid extra for expedited shipping. They refunded me for the damaged shipment and the additional shipping fee. I offered to buy 2 additional nightstands at a higher price point ($50 more each) and I was told there was no way they could get them to me in 1-2 days. I offered to have them rush shipped (2-3 days) to my sister's house who lives nearby, and was told that they would not waive the rush shipping fee because they have already waived it twice for the two broken items. I asked if there was anything they could do to make this right. The answer was no. They didn't offer a discount on the more expensive nightstands I was about to purchase, or a gift card for the trouble, inconvenience and additional stress of two damaged shipments in a row. They wouldn't even waive the shipping fee. In my opinion, this is very poor service.
In general, I've loved shopping at Home Goods. They have cute stuff at a fair price. I've spent more than $3000 at the local Home Good store in the last month to furnish this property. All this to say, Home Goods is losing a loyal customer. I work in retail and value stores that take care of their customers. Home Goods hasn't taken care of me. I'll think twice about shopping Home Goods to furnish our next property.
