No longer offer servers that you can add additional RAM or upgrade storage space. They will try and force you into an instant server that doesn't fit your needs very well, little to no RAID options. They no longer can customize anything even if they have the components in stock, even if it's just simple adding a second drive so you can have basic RAID1. The other option is to get a custom quote from them which takes a few days. The price is at least 3x to 4x higher than what it should be for simple, common, standard configurations (example: Intel E2300 Series, 32 GB RAM, 980 GB SSDs in RAID1 ~$300+/month) they want to put you on a 12 or 24 month contract/term, otherwise the price is 10x to 15x higher than what a standard configuration normally is if you want to just be month to month. They are pretty much asking you, the first customer to lease the brand new hardware to pay off the hardware yourself, even when they have components in stock in which they can easily add another drive to the server, so that they will be able to use it for many years to come, with many different clients, with the hardware being well payed off (by many years) by the time it's retired and junked. In summary. If you have a need beyond a simple, non-raid, oddly proportioned speced instant dedicated server that you aren't allowed to upgrade ever, you'll be paying at the very least 3x more, waiting 2 months for hardware delivery, and stuck in a contract with them. Do yourself a favor and find any of the many other hosting companies out there that still value customers needs, and don't expect you to pay for the full price of hardware in a few months that they will resell for many years after you're done using the server.

Hivelocity deleted my device without confirming that they had made a good faith attempt to reach me. I was on vacation and fell victim to credit card fraud. My bank blocked my card. It also happened to be the card on file with HiVelocity. They claim to have sent me two email about my payment being missed, but I have no record of said emails. They went ahead and deleted my device. Totally unacceptable. I shall not be doing business with this company.

This review is relevant to colocation customers. I have a list of about 50 reasons you should not use Hivelocity, but we'll focus on one at a time. Reason #1 Their abuse department is a mess. We had this situation happen where they were migrating their abuse portal to a new one, and they were still using the OLD system, which did not properly send email notifications (kind of important to notify about abuse.) Their solution? They turned off the network ports to ALL our servers, over something like one or two unanswered abuse reports. They contacted us in every way EXCEPT the usual way, aka, the email we input into the system to notify us to that specific abuse email. They admitted this, but then our account manager just pretended to care about their screw-up and said he'd conduct an internal investigation and give us SLA credit, never happened. By the way the best part is we already got reports for the abuse from third parties, and already had handled the abuse so they didn't even bother checking to see if the IP address reported pings before just turning off all ports, and Diana Cruz who is some higher-up tried to spin all this as somehow being our fault, like we should have known that their systems suck. Then, it gets better! They forgot about all this, because they didn't mark it off in their system. Later, they contacted us AGAIN threatening us for the SAME abuse case that was resolved weeks ago!

The company requires a photo of your documents (ID or passport). This is not mentioned anywhere in the order form or on the service landing pages. Apparently, these guys see themselves as a "bank" or "stock exchange" with KYC procedures. In other words, after you make a payment, they will request identity verification — not in a dispute, not to recover access, but by default. I have no intention of sharing my personal documents with every random company out there. There are already too many data breaches in the world. Therefore, the advertisement claiming that servers are set up instantly (in 5 minutes) is also misleading, as identity verification is done manually during business hours. I've requested a refund. Will update my review or write a new one accordingly.

I purchased a VPS, but it was incredibly slow with unbearable latency. I reached out to tech support, and they confirmed the issue. After waiting five days for a response, customer service refused to issue a refund. Fortunately, I had paid with PayPal, so I opened a dispute and got my money back. The service was painfully slow, and the customer support was even worse.

Hivelocity staff are racists. As a Chinese person, I have faced unequal treatment and felt the harm caused by discrimination. I want to share my experience today. I am a long-time Heficed user (which Hivelocity has acquired) with a good account history. Initially, they directed us from the Heficed site to register on Hivelocity. I registered and applied for a VPS, but it was never activated. They requested ID verification, and a day later, my account was banned without refund. I strongly suspect racial discrimination, as my information indicated I am Chinese.
