I liked that the service is affordable and easy to use. However, I disliked that there are several fees I did not know about when purchasing the service. I payed 500 to start the service then had to pay 1600 for attorney representation. The total was over 2,000 dollars I wish I knew how much the overall cost for everything was going to be.

I felt trapped and misled when I discovered after purchasing the base service that both me and my partner needed additional legal counsel to sign off on a waiver based on our selections in the questionnaire process. This required additional service more than tripled the advertised price. There was no flexibility to use our own legal counsel to circumvent the additional ~$800 per person through the platform. I thought the possibility of required additional fees were not properly communicated during initial purchase of the base service.

The online notary couldn’t help because helloprenup had a “known bug” where we couldn’t sign. Super stressful. We had to print out and get notarized. When asking them to send us the agreement they sent the one that wasn’t signed by my attorney and we didn’t realize until after it got notarized in person. When messaging them they said oh we thought you just wanted any copy. It’s great for a quick prenup in a bind, but still spend 2k - may as well get a lawyer you can see in person.

The technology was spotty at best. We finally got the job done, but with a good amount of tech support. Also got double charged, we think thanks to the tech issues, but had to reach out several days later once I noticed to get the second charge reversed.

Great service but because of maintenance (scheduled but it took longer than anticipated) we had to redo our prenup a couple times. The built in options also aren’t very customizable so you definitely have to work with a lawyer and have them make a bunch of tweaks. Would also have been really helpful to have information on what things default to legally if there isn’t a prenup in place or if you don’t specify things.

Overall experience was good, however, the online notarization process was a mess as the service did not allow my fiancé to verify her identify as she did not have a SSN or ITIN. No where was that disclosed ahead of time so we were left scrambling at the last minute to find a replacement notary which caused a lot of unneeded last minute stress and anxiety as to whether we would be able to get it completed. They did refund us the money for it which was good but they need to do a better job of disclosing that it doesn't work for foreigners.

This was a very straight forward process. Working with your partner to review the questionnaire portion is helpful. This would be the best service and completely stress free IF the website actually provides suggested legal services like it advertises. At least, if you live in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area, you will not find legal services to review the prenup. Whatever you thought you were saving, you may end up spending on legal fees after all! Some may not want to have an attorney review it, but that is a huge faux pas and may pay for it later when a judge denies the validity of the prenup regardless of notary signatures.
