Wanted to like them. I did Everything they needed ...2 months of blood work...urine work that I have to drive 30+ minutes for just for them to deny me right before they sent the prescription know why? THEY ACCESSED MY MEDICAL INFORMATION ILLEGALLY. I don't care if my leg is cut off this is about my acne and not being pregnant. No other information was ever needed.

We take patient privacy and HIPAA compliance very seriously and never access or share medical information without proper consent. As with any medical facility, obtaining records requires a signed release form, and patients must provide accurate and complete health information so our medical team can safely proceed with care.
Our team thoroughly reviews with each patient the requirements needed to move forward with treatment. If essential health information is not provided during the evaluation, we cannot proceed in accordance with clinical guidelines and safety standards. These safeguards go beyond iPledge requirements and are in place to protect the health and well-being of every patient we serve.
We appreciate having had the opportunity to speak with you directly, prior to this review, to explain your case and ensure you fully understood the process. Our priority will always be transparency, professionalism, and the highest standards of care.

Not the safest solution
ClearHealth approved me for Accutane based solely on an online intake form and uploaded photos, without providing me with any live consultation, it was very impersonal given the potency of this drug, it raised a red alarm for me.
Shortly afterward, I checked with my personal doctor—and was strongly advised against Accutane, making it clear that the online approval was not only insufficient but potentially unsafe.
Although I never received the prescription or began treatment, and immediately halted the process, ClearHealth refused to issue a refund, citing that a medical evaluation had technically been “completed.” In my view, this "evaluation" did not meet the basic standard of care expected for such a dangerous medication. I was offered no follow-up, no reassessment, and no meaningful opportunity to address serious safety concerns that arose afterward.
If you're considering using ClearHealth for Accutane, please proceed with caution. Their process may check legal boxes, but in my case, it failed to ensure actual medical safety.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience.
To clarify, every evaluation on our platform is reviewed with the utmost care by a licensed, board-certified provider. Your approval for treatment was based on the information you personally submitted, including a mental health screening and photos, all of which were considered during a thorough clinical review. While we operate virtually, this approach meets the standards for safe, asynchronous care and is consistent with modern telehealth practices.
Patients are always encouraged and able to message their provider directly through the platform to address concerns or request a reassessment within a reasonable timeframe. We also support syncing care with in-person providers, just as one might seek a second opinion or follow-up in a traditional setting.
As noted at the time of purchase, our policy states that medical evaluations are non-refundable once completed. Just like with an in-person dermatologist, once a provider completes an evaluation and determines you’re eligible for treatment, that medical service is considered rendered, even if you later decide not to proceed with the medication.
We remain committed to ensuring patient safety and continuously improving the experience for everyone who seeks treatment through our platform.
If you’re exploring online dermatology care and want to know if ClearHealth is the right fit for you, feel free to email us! We’re happy to help you make an informed decision.

Honestly
Honestly, it’s been a freaking waste of time going through clear because one it doesn’t take away from the process you have to do anyways with any provider that you go to. Also, my insurance doesn’t even take it so I have to literally come out of pocket and they charge on top of it an extra $50, I don’t even know for just talking to the doctor doesn’t even talk to you and it’s just very sloppy. I wouldn’t do it just go through a dermatologist through your provider. This was a complete waste of time. I wish I never did it through them

Hi Clara,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I sensed during our call, just short of this review being left, that there were still some unresolved concerns, and I’m sorry to hear you feel this way about your experience with Clear Health. I’d like to take a moment to address your feedback and clarify our process to help ensure others are also well-informed.
Throughout this journey, I worked closely with you to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible despite the challenges that arose. I made it my priority to assist you every step of the way, ensuring your prescription was successfully sent to your pharmacy.
It’s important to note that we inform all patients prior to making any payment that we are an out-of-network provider. This information is presented during the process of submitting insurance details and is also shared with patients as part of setting expectations regarding costs. This transparency allows patients to make informed decisions before proceeding with their evaluation.
To resolve the challenges you experienced, we went above and beyond by speaking with you and your pharmacy after hours. During those conversations, we uncovered additional details that had not been shared initially and worked diligently to address them.
While every patient’s journey is unique, our goal is always to provide exceptional support and assistance. I regret that we didn’t meet your expectations, but I appreciate your feedback, which helps us continue to refine and improve the care we provide.
If there’s anything further I can do to assist you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll be speaking again soon.

They do not care
I had a lot of issues with this company especially customer service. It’s ridiculous the way they pass you around. Besides that your doctor literally couldn’t give less of a crap about you!! I have been struggling with terrible side effects post accutane treatment and asked my derm about getting bloodwork done to test for anemia and she told me to go to a pcp. Hello? I just spent the last half of this year being treated by you and being prescribed this medication by you but when I express concerns about side effects a month after the treatment they essentially told me to kick rocks. Awesome! Super caring :) The entirety of my experience my dermatologist was short and uncaring. Customer service was just messy and I was always being tossed around. It would be better if you could actually call and have a real conversation with someone who listens. As someone who has been failed by healthcare over and over again, it never gets less disappointing. It seems routine for most people to get bloodwork done after accutane to make sure everything still looks normal. Why not with this company? What’s the point of even doing the baseline tests? I don’t currently have a pcp and by the time I can get in with one I’ll have spent even more months being miserable and sick from a drug carelessly prescribed.

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We truly value your feedback and use it to improve our services. I'm sorry to hear about your post-treatment experience, and I’d love to clarify a few points to help resolve the issue.
Throughout your treatment and after its completion, bloodwork forms are always available for download in your account. Each month, after approval, we send a recommendation for monthly testing. While it’s not always required at certain times, we provide this guidance to help make the process easier for you. In the 'My Labs' section of your patient portal, you can download your signed bloodwork requisition form, both during and after treatment.
Our contact number (833.685.4529, opt. 1) is available on our website and in the patient portal's Support section, where you can reach us by call or text. This number is also included in our support emails because we understand that some patients prefer to speak with us directly. During monthly evaluations, we offer the option of a phone call with the dermatologist, which can be scheduled either before or after your prescription approval. We strive to put you in control of your care to ensure your satisfaction.
Additionally, our nurse triage team is available 24/7 to assist with any concerns, especially side effects. You can reach them at 833.685.4529, opt. 3.
I'd love the opportunity to discuss your experience further and address any remaining concerns. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or give us a call. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Do not use this company!!!!!!
Do not use! Most frustrating and misleading company. I signed up for the microdose Accutane protocol because their website states that they start low, like 10mg, as an example for a monthly rate. This is exactly why I signed up and hoped I’d be a candidate. I was approved and did the Ipledge. However, the derm put me on 40mg to start. No! That’s not what I wanted so I let them know that I would not like to continue if this were the case. I then get a response to check my email. I get an email from Taylor stating their pharmacy doesn’t have 10mg for the micro dose protocol but that I can switch to their regular Accutane protocol for a monthly fee but that I would have to get the rx from my pharmacy. I immediately agreed to this and provided my pharmacy info to get the ball rolling. Mind you, they do not have a number to call. All this is via email or messaging in their system, which takes 24+ hrs for response. I never heard back but then get a message the following day from the same doctor stating she put me on the 40mg. They’re charging for something I never agreed upon. Instead of the doctor trying to explain anything, she just prescribed the dose followed with a generic warning text on the dangers of Isotretinoin. Wow. There is nothing personal about this. Please refund my money.

Hi Hannah,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We truly value hearing from our patients as it helps us continually improve our services.
Our goal is always to ensure that our patients feel comfortable with their treatment plan. We encourage open conversations between patients and their providers to discuss any concerns or preferences, and adjustments to treatment can be made at any time based on these discussions.
I would also like to clarify that we offer multiple ways to communicate with our team, including your dermatologist. In addition to messaging through our secure portal on your dashboard, you can reach us via email at [email protected] or by calling or texting us at 833.685.4529. Our contact information is readily available on our website.
When completing an evaluation, we make sure that pricing is clearly communicated, especially when patients receive their medication directly from us. We are committed to providing all the information necessary to support our patients’ care.
I want to confirm that, prior to this review, a refund was processed. We ensure that all patients receive a receipt for their records and confirmation of any refunds.
Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you the best!

My dermatologist seemed very lazy and…
My dermatologist seemed very lazy and uncaring. I told him I had concerns about taking Accutane with some of my conditions and I was told that was my only option. I asked if there was anything else he could help recommend and in his words exactly “unfortunately no”. then my account was immediately deactivated. I spent all this money for absolutely zero care or effort. I recommend going to see a real in person dermatologist
Response from Clear HealthMar 31, 2024
Hi Janae -
We apologize for the experience you encountered. Providing attentive patient care is paramount to us, and we deeply regret any instance where you felt your needs were not adequately addressed.
Regarding your concerns about Accutane and your pre-existing conditions, our dermatologist recommended the option they deemed most suitable for you at this time. At Clear Health, we provide multiple offerings that could work for any of our patients, but as providers, they have to make sure that these options are within the patients' best interest.
However, we understand your desire for additional recommendations, and we apologize if this wasn't effectively communicated. If we feel as though there are treatment options that could be explored with an in-person dermatologist, we will always recommend that as we want what is best for the patient.
Our commitment is to always offer comprehensive care and support. We regret any miscommunication or misunderstanding that may have contributed to your dissatisfaction. We genuinely value your feedback and continuously strive to enhance our services. Should you wish to discuss your concerns further, please reach out to our patient care team without hesitation.

Do not bother going through clear…
Do not bother going through clear health unless you can pay out of pocket for the medication. No one at the company seems to know what insurances they work with until it gets denied and only then after spending $120 will you find out that they don't accept your insurance. I politely asked to be refunded given the circumstances and they refused. Very disheartening given that I never even spoke to or saw an actual doctor,
Response from Clear HealthNov 13, 2023
Hi Shelby!
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It gives us an opportunity to better ourselves on how we can improve and provide assistance. I’ve addressed your concerns below, please let me know if I missed anything here.
When you signup to be a part of our telemedicine platform, you submit a medical intake questionnaire to be reviewed by one of our Board-Certified Dermatologist. Once you have completed this step, you will always have the option to message them directly at any point during your treatment, even before you’re approved for the treatment. If you would like to speak to them via phone, you always have that option as well! Our dermatologist are always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your treatment process.
Regarding the insurance coverage, Clear Health does not take insurance to cover
evaluation fees, and we make sure that we let all patients know this during the intake process. Since we do not take insurance, we are unable to process any patients’ insurance plans to determine if their medication will be covered at their local pharmacy. That is why we highly recommend during registration that all patients call their insurance company prior to beginning care. We also inform all patients during registration that the only insurance our providers are not in-network with is Medicaid/Medicare or state insurance. This means that if a patient has one of these plans, it is highly likely that any script sent by one of our providers will not be covered.
We allow patients to enter their insurance information if opting to use a local pharmacy, as they are the ones who will send the information off to your insurance. At that point, if a prior authorization from the insurance company is needed, we are more than happy to submit this on their behalf, but it is still up to the insurance company to determine coverage. If coverage by your insurance company is denied, we will always work with our patients to help them find alternatives in order for them to still receive the medication they have been approved for.
In terms of our current refund policy; similar to seeing an in-person dermatologist, once your evaluation has been reviewed and approved by the Dermatologist, we are unable to offer a refund at that point as the requested service has been performed. While we are completely online, every service is performed by a licensed physician.
If you have any further concerns please feel free to reach out to me personally as I am more than happy to help!
