Since we're a free hosting provider we attract a lot of people who are new to web hosting who aren't sure if they want to pay for hosting yet without trying it out for free for a while. Thanks for the 5 star review, Abisheak! We've always focused on our free hosting, first and foremost. When a student or someone new to webhosting is just starting out, they most likely won't want to immediately spend money until they are more confident with what they're doing. That's why we offer the free service, so people can give it a try without any commitment, without needing a credit card, and it's not even just a trial. Take as much time experimenting as you want. No rush. When you're ready to upgrade we have VPS, Morty, and Tommy plans which offer better speed, and better uptime. If you're happy enough with the free plan for 19+ years, that's fine too. We won't force you to upgrade if you're not interested.

Thanks for the 5 star review, Terrai! That's amazing that you've been using our hosting for 14 years now. There is another active user that we know has been using our hosting for 19 years too. Most free hosting providers come and go within only a year or two, but HelioHost refuses to give up.

Thanks for the 5 star review, Barronm! It looks like you upgraded to the Morty plan, so you don't even need to worry about logging in each month anymore. In the past we've had to cut costs with older hardware, and less reliable systems. We've had a few massive downtimes due to failed hardware, but since our bank account is no longer dropping at an alarming rate anymore, we don't need to cut corners and be so cheap these days. Our primary focus over the last few years is to be more reliable, so all of our plans are on redundant raid arrays, on newer hardware, we've put a lot of effort into automating our alert system, and we have spare hardware in our cabinet ready to swap in within minutes of being needed. Thanks for the 5 star review, Joseph! Those three points are really good information for anyone looking for a free or low cost web host. When we used cPanel people always told us how confusing it was, and constantly complained to us about how hard it was to figure out. Now that we've switched to Plesk we've gotten a lot of feedback on how it's more intuitive and easier to use. Let us know if you need help with anything.

Thanks for the 5 star review, Neishai! We've been providing free web hosting since 2005, so yes, 21 years definitely counts as having "been around for a while". Most free hosting providers come and go pretty quick, but we've obviously found the recipe for longevity. There have been a few times where we came close to shutting down, but our volunteers and our donors never gave up. Hopefully we can continue to exist and adapt for another 21 years or more.
