Course was too expensive. Ideas were too large and vague. Instead of hands on designing, we discussed different theories and approaches. Was not interactive enough- only used chat rooms. Will not use HCI again

Wish there had been far more details and practical information, and far less hypothetical work. 40% of the class was working on examples (that were not useful) rather than providing more detail. The class was VERY expensive to have spent 40% of it 'learning' from other students who were equally clueless. The exercises were laughably unhelpful...the blind leading the blind. The examples provided so few detail answers could be completely made up and still be considered correct. More of the discussion focused on the confusing questions/examples than the course content. NOT how to learn. If you want exercises to be helpful, it should be a well thought out/detailed case study that students read BEFORE attending, then work through as a consistent thread throughout the class. I wish you had provided more real world examples of when and how this has worked also, as well as more practical coverage of the "how." I went into the class already understanding the process conceptually - I was hoping for the nuts and bolts of how...this class failed to provide a lot of that to the depth needed. It was an ok class, but very underwhelming for the price tag. The instructor was nice, seemed knowledgable, and did an excellent job of trying to keep the class engaged despite the virtual format.

The instructor was adequate (albeit dry), but we only did one breakout session in the entire two day/16 hour session. When I mentioned to a colleague that the one breakout session was the most impactful part of my training, she said that she had many, many breakout sessions. I talked further to other colleagues who had different instructors, and it appears that my course was the only one without breakout sessions. This would have been incredibly helpful, since now the portion of the training that I know the best is the portion where I had our one breakout session. For almost $2,000, I am disappointed in the quality of instruction and found it easier to teach myself from the workbook and other materials.

I wanted to access live sessions via my phone because I could not use my laptop and was not able to. I reached out to the support email immediately and got a response late in the day with only a ticket that was opened. I also have not been able to get two sessions to re-play properly in the resources page; I will continue trying. I believe we could have had more timely content shared in the conference that is applicable to this new era of work - now is the time to rewrite employee experience and I felt the content was a bit watered down.

I liked most of the content. My only complaint is that some of the content was just too high-level to be helpful. The first half of the seminar seemed to be more about employee and brand management and not onboarding.

Felt like the course was disorganized and outdated. And why not providing powerpoint slides?

The content was good. It would have been useful to know that we had to sign up with vimeo and poll everywhere ahead of time. (If this was in some pre-conference communication, I didn't see it) There was an issue with transitioning between sessions, where old content continued to play, even after the new session began. I had this happen for the start of Peter and Jane's session, where the old recording shown during the initial cafe's continued to play well past the session start time. I assumed there was some delay in the session. In actuality, I had to refresh the browser several times to get the new session to start. Also, for the cafe's I didn't have any issue with Mei's or with Davids. For some reason, it made me register for Peter and Jane's, and I couldn't just enter.

While the content was very interesting, it was heavily focused on Covid case studies and did not explore in much usable detail the "how" of analyzing data or driving innovation with data.
