Great conference
Great conference, would have liked some more interactivity during the presentations but the cafes were a good alternative.

I loved the conference and the best part was being able to ask questions to panelist on a more intimate setting(Colleague Cafes) to me that was one of the best parts. What I honestly disliked was the fact that the conference started too close to lunch time (specially for us in other countries) and I had to miss some keynotes or colleges Cafes in order to eat and I didn't want that!.

This was my first HCI Conference and the presenters were fabulous! The 45 minute sessions flew by and I wanted to hear more from every speaker.

HCI did a great job with the virtual conference and most sessions were short enough but also full of useful information I can use in my current role.

Conference flow was really well planned. It moved from presenter to host to transition time really seamlessly. That's hard to do. Conference presenters on day one (for the ones I was able to attend) were exceptional. Day two presenters were a mixed bag, some seemed well prepared. I was really quite shocked and put off by Peter Lynch saying the best term he could think of for a bad manager was a douchebag. Seriously? That's language I expect from 15 year old boys, not the "head of people & culture". IDK how he thinks that is appropriate at all for a workplace AND to retell to an audience of strangers, I'm sure at least half of which were women. It was incredibly insulting. I was looking forward to Megan Karsh's presentation, but it felt like a 2 hour workshop condensed down to 30 min. Otherwise, the presentations were pretty good. My two favorite sessions were David Rock & Miguel Joey Aviles-Perez. Those were exceptional! I know how hard it is to produce a virtual conference, this one was executed very well. A couple of hiccups with technology but nothing to make or break. Opening with clear instructions about how and who to contact for technology issues, questions for the host, etc. is helpful. Chat I think was disabled on day one until about half way through and it also wasn't intuitive to locate it. One thing I've learned from producing these types of events... people never read emails (including me) and even though we kept being told we got an email with the cafe menu attached, I didn't. If the technology allows in the future, consider making the documents available for download in the session. Put all the links in a separate document and make that available for download. Maybe an FAQ document as well... like here's where you'll find recorded sessions, here's how you participate in polls, helpful tip to open as another browser window, etc. All in all, this was well thought out, planned carefully, and executed about as well as can be expected. I was thoroughly impressed with the content, presenters, and HCI as the host. The attention to detail even in the transition periods was exceptional. Normally I just share a google timer so people know how long until it's time to return, but I'll reconsider that for future. Thank you for all the hard work and long hours that went into making a memorable conference!

At first, I was skeptical about an online conference but after attending it, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The price was attractive as well as the time saver of not having to travel. Presentations were topical and presenters were polished and engaging. I'll come back next year. Thanks for a great show!

I had a bit of a challenge at first because I didn't know our VPN would cause issues in watching video (was working remote from home). I tried Internet Explorer (which was unsupported altogether) and G. Chrome. It was frustrating to have to trouble shoot while the conference was going on (missed some beginning session but am glad I can go back and catch up later once posted). I resolved the issue by using my personal computer and G. Chrome to login- then I could watch videos (so must have been something with our VPN). Maybe give people a heads up in the future on this issue? --my coworker who was on-sight had issues at first too but "docking" her computer gave her better results. The speakers were great of course. I liked that they offered opportunity for reflection and interaction even though they were web-based. I liked how animated/energized some of the speakers were. They're enthusiasm was engaging. I like that they shared personal stories whether about an organization's lessons learned or inspirational moments of their own lives. Thanks!
