Hi Courtney, We’re sorry to hear that you were surprised by the bill and understand your concern about receiving a $600 charge after your testing. Like other medical providers, Happy Sleep bills your insurance for covered services, but insurance coverage does not necessarily mean that there will be no out-of-pocket responsibility. Depending on your specific plan, your insurance company may apply the cost of testing toward your deductible, coinsurance, or other patient responsibility. The final amount is determined by your insurer after the claim is processed. The purpose of the testing is to help our clinicians understand your sleep and determine whether treatment is appropriate. Even when testing does not identify a sleep disorder, the testing itself is still a medical service that is billed through insurance.
