I am a small business owner and use Guideline to administer our 401K plan. The user interface is very convenient and integrated with our payroll system, which is why we opted to use Guideline. However, today we received a notice of penalty from the IRS because Guideline failed to file our 8955-SSA form on time (it was several months late) and also failed to file an extension when they were unable to get this form filed on time. Very disappointed that Guideline did not even notify us of this issue or proactively address it with the IRS when they knew these forms were filed several months late. This is a core part of their job.

An annoying company to deal with. I had a company-sponsored 401k with them and when the company was sold they only had bad/annoying options to continue -- and it was a real pain to access systems (tied to the previous employer) to transfer money out

Unfair pricing changes - pricing over doubled with no change in service provided. The service itself has worked fine, but the pricing policies are quite unfortunate. The price we pay recently doubled due to a change in how they price their plans. We received no new features that we use, but our price still doubled. Be very careful with signing up, as we thought we'd be grandfathered in at our price, but we were very wrong.

My onboarding specialist has been very kind and has done all she can. That is why I gave two stars instead of one. We have been working for a couple of months to get Guideline to work with my Quickbooks company file. I have spent hours and hours with the Quickbooks people and with Guideline just to be told by one that the other is the problem. My tasks in Guideline have all been completed. I don't know what esle to do. I have missed several pay periods and it is embarrassing to keep giving excuses to my boss and all the employees. If you can help....please do!

We have guidelines for two of our businesses. Costs and function of these work differently; and then I’ll get an email about getting fees waived for new accounts. Would love get the good deal for all of our businesses.

Tried to opt-out because my work started using it. Would be automatically enrolled if I did nothing! Was eventually able to opt-out, but long, confusing process. Still had to create an account?? And then wanted to know why I didn't want a 401k rn. Not user friendly because it felt like I was signing up for a 401k when I didn't want one. What is going on?? I'm sure it works great for people who want it, but it was very confusing to opt out.
