Guideline is an intuitive retirement plan platform. I'd like a little more flexibility with investments, but other than that it's all good.

New monthly fees charged to an employee's account makes the service less of a no-brainer.

I’m very happy with the ease of setting up my portfolio and the selection of mutual funds (although I would maybe want VTWAX as an option). However, there are some missing features that I would really appreciate. I like to track my portfolio in external software so I can easily see how all of my investments are doing in one place, but Guideline does not give me enough transaction info to easily do that. I would love to be able to see the prices and share quantities for each transaction as they settle so I can use other software to calculate exact gain/loss info for each position for each day. The info that is currently in the quarterly statements is good, but I don’t want to wait up to three months to get it, because I try to keep up with my investment accounts at least once a month. Other than that shortcoming, I’m happy with my 401(k) so far, despite the market conditions!

Everything about signing up and explanations of how all things work was exceptional. Support has been great, and everything has just worked as promised. Only concern is the investment platform. It is really weak and dated in it's technology and resources. The app is not an app, it's an app version of a website, very clunky by any standard.

Simple option for 401K for small-medium companies; market performance so far is in line. Wish they had an app and more friendly tools to customize and project various scenario so we can see future growth of money invested (think Acorn...)
