Grovemade customer service hates you but you only learn that once things don't ship when they say they will and you inquire. then you get a sassy email telling you it will take 5-7 days to respond and please don't email them twice about the same thing. There is no one to call. The first item I ordered came in a timely fashion so I stupidly expected that to continue to be true and ordered more. When I ordered two items separately they said they would both ship several days ago and that I would have them sometime between a few days ago through two days from now. Since one of them now says "In production" despite it not saying that when I ordered it, I doubt I will get it anytime soon. The other was supposedly in stock also when I ordered it and would ship within a few days, but now a few days from the end of their window for me to get it, it still says in stock and shipping soon. The stuff costs too much for them to treat you this badly. Also my package came from the east coast despite them saying they are a Portland company.

Their website said my items would ship on Aug 14th when I placed my order on Aug 9th. When that date elapsed, I emailed Grovemade and they said they'd ship on Aug 25th. When Aug 25th elapsed, they replied with a scripted email saying my items were on the way to their fulfillment centre. Yesterday, Sept 4th, I emailed them again and got the same scripted fullfillment centre email as before. I have no idea what's going on. UPDATES: Sept 12th -- Refunded my shipping costs and said they'd ship by Sept 22nd, at the latest. Sept 30th -- Still no dispatch email and haven't replied to my last email sent on Sept 22nd. Oct 6th — My order finally arrived today. Never got a shipment dispatch email from Grovemade. Last week, I received a letter asking me to pay £115 in import VAT for a shipment from the USA. Considering that the value of my Grovemade order was only £130 and no dispatch email, I assumed it couldn’t be Grovemade. To check this, I emailed Grovemade but I got no reply. I decided to take the gamble by paying the Import VAT invoice and see what arrived. Low and behold, it was my Grovemade order but with the Customs Declaration incorrectly filled out overstating the shipment value by 5x. The Import VAT should have been £0 since the order value was below the £135 threshold, so now I have to submit a BOR286 form to reclaim the VAT overpayment. Absolutely useless!

As others have said, the customer service is pretty much non-existent. I get the same stock answer every time I ask them why my order has being saying “In stock - ready to ship” for weeks. I had a separate mail out about a fulfilment centre change. Seems like they have made a hash of the switch over. No ability to cancel my order via the website as it tells me my order has now been fulfilled. Great. They are good at the marketing and I can attest that the products I’ve bought previously were as described but the experience as a customer in 2023 is absolutely archaic.

If you honestly spend $150 on what essentially is an open box with no lid that holds 4 cheap items, then I have a bridge to sell you. Great bridge tbh! Get in touch now to find out more!

Haven’t received my product in nearly a month and zero reply from support in a week. Will update if either of those change

I was excited initially to receive my desk shelf but after receiving it was very disappointed. I'm not sure what all the hype is about this product but it is very shoddy. The supports made out of cork started to crumble as I was putting the item together, on top of that the metal shelf was sagging. The top part of the wood also appeared to have marks all over it, either from the glue that is used or a poor sanding and staining job. I reached out to the support team and it took over 12 days to reach a resolution which was to ship the product back for refund. After waiting almost 14 more days I receive a notification that my refund is on the way, 5 more days go by and it finally posts to my credit card for $23 less than my original amount! Apparently, I still had to pay for shipping this defective item back and I am not happy. I have submitted a dispute with my credit card. Overall, the Grovemade site looks nice but the products are not worth the hassle. There are several other Etsy sellers that sell a quality product.

I ordered a desk shelf, it arrived damaged, their response was to offer me 50% refund or a replacement. when i refused the 50% discount, they stated they shipped me a replacement without me agreeing to it. and yet I'm still waiting almost 2 weeks for it to arrive and they wont reply to any email I have sent. The product it self is poorly crafted, definitely not worth the money you spend. Avoid this sham of a business.

I bought a leather wrist pad from them last month. Spilled a little bit of water on the pad and it caused stains to appear on the leather even though I immediately wiped it up. Contacted customer service about the problem and product to see if I could get a replacement. I was told to buy a leather conditioner that may help with staining. I am thinking I am spending $100 on this thing, thinking it would last and look great for a long time. I was totally wrond.
