Great Voice isn't 100% perfect........
This is SO sad that I had to actually do this but the truth is the light. As you can see from the previous reviews, this company has an overwhelmingly positive perspective. Frankly, I don't disagree with those reviews. Where MY issue comes into play, is the fact that the classes they offer historically were on Saturdays. I ACTUALLY PAID $344 for programs from them and if they are going to ignore me and block me out I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! I happen to be a person of faith that worships on Saturdays which is considered the Sabbath, and we're known as Seventh Day Adventists. As fate would have it, I've been informed that several individuals in Great Voice's administration are members of another denomination that historically worships on Saturdays as well. that being Judaism. When I sought to join a class they advertised that would be valuable to me that they announced would be held on TUESDAYS, I was excited and anticipatory looking forward to the opportunity. I was informed that I "insulted the Jewish heritage of (those staff members), and the many Christian members of our community" by earlier requesting classes be either repeated or recorded for the benefit of those unavailable on the Sabbath. As such, they have blacklisted me, a devout Christian who chose to maintain my religious fidelity., basically insulting ME! What's even more ironic, is that, unbeknownst to THEM, I grew up as next door neighbors of Rabbis, sharing Jewish culture and history. I'm securing equivalent training by former broadcasters who offer similar classes, but I felt it's important that anyone who has similar challenges with scheduling classes with Great Voice Company is made aware of their mindset.
Response from Great VoiceJul 25, 2025
After checking our communications from and with you, we were able to verify that you wrote in to our Support desk on November 23, 2024 with the following message: Timothy L. Smalls Nov 23 20:01 To: Team Great Voice Well this is what I THOUGHT might happen eventually. I just didn't expect it a week after I started. I am a Seventh Day Adventist. I choose to honor the Sabbath. If you have any jews working there that are worth their weight in salt, they MIGHT be inclined to agree with me. Anyway, I see that the training you had scheduled on 23 November, will NOT be recorded or replayed, so you're basically saying people need to pick being a VO artist or accepting a religious commitment. I can avoid going to Hell by following Jesus. I don't think Susan Berkley can give me the same guarantee. Delete me from any and all future correspondence. Timothy L. Smalls (email address and phone number redacted) You did not allow any opportunity for our team to explain that the FREE Saturday training you replied about was an unusual event as our free trainings are normally on Thursday evenings. You have also since been fully refunded, including a training you forgot to add into your total requested refund, despite the fact that you took all of the trainings and used your Voice Consultation, which would normally make those things non-refundable. It should be clear to any reasonable individual reading your message above that it was not the Great Voice Company who was attacking people over their religious beliefs. The Great Voice Company accepts students regardless of religion, race, creed, orientation, etc. We do reserve the right to refuse to do business with someone who disrespects those who chose not to observe as they do, or those who behave in bullying, aggressive, or abusive manners towards our staff or community members. As you have already been fully refunded, and unfortunately TrustPilot doesn't remove reviews from those who misrepresent their experience with a company, we hope that anyone who reads your review and our response will look into the sheer volume of other 1 star reviews you've personally posted and compare that with the HUNDREDS of 5 star reviews other people have left for Great Voice, and decide for themselves.
