Ruined Christmas and Finances
I am writing this review to fully document my experience with GravaStar and to warn others, especially Canadian customers and anyone living on a fixed or disability income, before ordering from this company. I ordered a keyboard from GravaStar as a Christmas gift. This was not an impulse purchase. I planned for it carefully and budgeted for it in advance, because I live on disability and keep myself to a very strict monthly budget. This was meant to be a special, one-time gift. When the keyboard arrived, the situation immediately went downhill. The product was defective and unusable. It did not function properly straight out of the box. While defects can happen with electronics, what matters is how a company responds when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, GravaStar’s response was slow, dismissive, and financially damaging. I contacted GravaStar support right away to report the defective product. Instead of responding promptly and taking responsibility, their replies were extremely slow and drawn out. Days would pass between responses, with no clear resolution or accountability. Because their communication was so delayed and unhelpful, I was forced to open a PayPal dispute earlier than I otherwise would have. I did this for a very important reason: I had paid using PayPal Pay in 4, and I needed to stop additional payments from being automatically taken for a defective product. Despite the product being defective and under dispute, the Pay in 4 payments continued to come out because GravaStar delayed the process so much. I was actively paying for a product that did not work and that I could not use. This added significant stress and anxiety, especially given my financial situation. I want to be very clear: I did not want to open a PayPal dispute. I was forced to do so because GravaStar’s slow responses left me no other option to protect myself financially. Even after opening the PayPal dispute, GravaStar still refused to provide a prepaid return shipping label. They insisted that if I wanted my refund, I would have to pay return shipping myself. I live in Canada, and GravaStar requires returns to be shipped internationally to the United States. International shipping with tracking is extremely expensive. Between return shipping costs, associated fees, and related expenses, I have now have to find a way with it all coming out of pocket, all because they sent me a defective product and refused to take responsibility. This is shipping internationally. I am on disability and live on a fixed income. Every dollar is accounted for. Being forced to continue Pay in 4 payments while also having to come up with over $100 in shipping costs caused real financial hardship. I had to take money from essential expenses just to deal with a problem that was not my fault. All of this happened over a Christmas gift. What should have been a positive holiday experience turned into weeks of stress, anxiety, and financial strain. At no point did GravaStar show urgency, accountability, or empathy for the situation they created. It is completely unacceptable for a company to: Send a defective product Respond so slowly that customers are forced to open PayPal disputes Allow Pay-in-4 payments to continue for a broken item Refuse prepaid return shipping Shift all financial burden onto the customer After experiencing this firsthand, I looked into other reviews and found many people reporting similar issues: defective products, extremely slow support, refusal to cover return shipping, and customers being forced to escalate through PayPal or credit card disputes just to get basic resolution. This appears to be a pattern, not an isolated incident. If you are in Canada, or if you are on a fixed income or tight budget, I strongly advise against ordering from GravaStar. International shipping is expensive, returns are expensive, and if something goes wrong, you will be the one paying both financially and emotionally. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a Christmas gift and caused unnecessary financial hardship. I am leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. I truly wish I had read a review like this before ordering. Because of this situation, I am now forced to prioritize paying return shipping fees just to receive a refund over buying groceries. I should never have been put in a position where I have to choose between basic necessities and getting my money back for a defective product. This is entirely the result of GravaStar refusing to take responsibility for their own mistake. Order #GR89484

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused you. We would like to clarify that we have already contacted the insurance provider, and the refund has been successfully processed and received by you. At the same time, we have repeatedly tried to understand the specific issue with the keyboard in order to assist further. However, we were not provided with details about what exactly was not functioning correctly, which unfortunately made it difficult for us to diagnose or resolve the problem effectively. We are always willing to cooperate and help resolve product issues, but without information about the defect itself, we did not know how to proceed in supporting you. Our customer service team has since reached out to you again to follow up. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and unpleasant experience this situation caused. Your feedback has been noted, and we will continue working to improve our service and communication.
