The advertised price is not what you are going to pay. I am a lawyer and scoured the site for information. When the price that was advertised as $1,850 with a $300 deposit rose because of handling fees. This is deceptive advertising as far as I am concerned.

Be extremely cautious when using this site because they charge administrative fees, don’t vet their breeders well, and don’t honor their protection policy. I paid the protection policy for a lovely toy Maltipoo I purchased in May 2025. The dog was quite expensive, and just a week later, in addition to several other health issues, it was diagnosed with a pre-existing eye condition called KCS. Good Dog wouldn’t honor their protection policy and insisted that I try to resolve the matter with the breeder. The breeder took no responsibility and suggested I return the dog. A inhumane and cruel suggestion because we have developed a strong bond. Be very cautious and don’t bother paying extra for the protection policy. Adding a response to Good Dog’s rebuttal. They are saying the dog wasn’t diagnosed with KCS by the former vet before I bought it. That’s like saying the dog wasn’t diagnosed with cancer. It’s irrelevant because the cancer was there just like the KCS was there. Their vet just didn’t find it. The breeder on Good Dog platform sold me a sick dog with no rabies paperwork. Even though I paid extras for the protection policy all they have to say is talk to the breeder. Unacceptable!

Changing my review to a 1. We had so many issues I can't even go into because it's so upsetting. But purchasing from a Breeder on there was the absolute worst experience ever. Tried to get the Breeder involved and crickets. The "Good Dog Guarantee" means absolutely nothing. Wonderful experience with Good Dog. The ability to search for animals up for adoption close to home is great! The Breeder we dealt with was top notch! Within 1 1/2 weeks we had 2 funny, loving additions to our home. I like Good Dog much better than other sites because it's easier to navigate.

Found an adorable puppy online using this website. It appeared that the breeder lived near me. We asked for an appointment to come see the dog, but were told that the dog wouldn’t be available to be seen for over a week and each time we communicated a deposit was requested, but I wasn’t ready to purchase a dog until I had seen it. So the required week went past, and we contacted the breeder again to make an appointment and was told that the dog had been sold. In the meantime, after submitting all of my contact information, I have been receiving tons and tons and tons of spam emails and texts! Furthermore, I was suspicious because the person I was communicating with used extremely broken English, which is often a red flag to me of someone trying to scam me, especially as this has not been the first time that someone has attempted to scam me and each time these people had extremely broken English

I was looking for two Westie sisters. Asked “Mary” to send pictures of females she had. She had me posting a picture of myself, telling them what your home is like, telling them what your yard is like, if you had previous dogs, how were your dogs, what kind of dogs and so on. I get it. But not answering me for two weeks is ridiculous. I’m thinking good dog and Mary is a scam. I’ve had Westies, or any kind of dog unfortunately their lives are not that long for people to take so long to give these dogs a good home it’s terrible. I would not recommend good dog and I would certainly not recommend Mary if in fact she has Westies.

I have never been treated so rudely by anyone before. I was looking at about 3 dog breeder sites in order to choose the best Cavapoo. I inquired of Debbie Beahm of Silverton , Oregon, but never made a verbal or written commitment. I didn’t even know the total cost of the service (we were thinking of meeting 1/2 way to my town) . She asked me to send one of my socks for the puppy to sniff, though didn’t explain why. Subsequently, I learned of the difference between an F1 and F2 puppy, and decided to go with a F1 instead of her F2’s. I asked her to return the sock, which she initially agreed to do. When I didn’t receive the sock, I sent another message of inquiry. I wasn’t mean…. Just asked if she was going to return my sock. She wanted to know if I would be paying postage. This resulted in a barrage of hateful, berating comments from her…including, but not limited to, my being self-centered, lacking integrity, entitled, unappreciative, not a credit to our generation, and that she was ashamed of me and glad that her puppy would never be in the arms of such a horrible person. Remember, this is just over a sock…and I didn’t realize I was doing something wrong. I told her to just keep the sock!

I posted a prior review of Good Dog and was told someone would reach out. No one has. Here is my review of Good Dog and the breeder review they will not allow me to post on their site because the breeder allowed me to make final payment directly to her. Did not know this would be an issue. From MD and flew to Chicago to pick up puppy and drive back. All pics I received showed an Old English Sheepdog. On the day of pickup something seemed off. Within 1st 2 weeks this puppies appearance changed so much that I had a DNA test done. While the test came back 100% the puppies features did not show that. Results were escalated to a genetic specialist. The results: while the DNA shows 100% the puppy is so poorly bred that the standard furnishings (coat, beard, mustache) have been lost. I thought Good Dog screened to keep representation of a breed. One look at the puppies from the prior litter would have shown them this was not the case. This breeder is now ghosting me and refuse to make this right. I am unable to ware other potential customers because I didn’t make final payment through GD so they could take their cut. Guess money is more important than breed standards! Sad.
